I was lookin' to get some advice on the best tires for my WS6. I drive on the weekends and from March to October. I've narrowed the brands down to Michelin, Goodyear, Bf goodrich, and Firestone. Rain, handling and road noise are what I'm looking at. Any advice on which is best. I also don't take it to the track. Thanks.

i'm really pleased with my Nitto 555 street tires
lots of grip, nice deep grooves but still big tread blocks for traction.
i have them in 315s on the back right now, plan on doing them for the fronts in 275 soon.

The only Goodyear tire I would buy, is the GS-D3. This is a max performance hispeed summer-only rain tire. I think i paid about $150 each, and they're good tires.
The stock Goodyear all weathers (may be the same as stock on a 01 'bird, don't know) that came on my Z weren't worth a flying fart in a whirlwind.
Go to some online site like The Tire Rack and look around, if you haven't already.

These are awesome budget tires. I have them on my fronts and BFG KD's in the back (the old style they don't make any more, not the garbage KDW's.) Possibly the worst has to be sumitomo, putting those on your car is about the same as trying to drive with cardboard boxes wrapped around your rims.

The BG Goodrich KD's offer the best traction you'll get without drag radials. The rain is manageable but if you ever have to drive through the tiniest amount of snow you're screwed. I've pulled 1.82 60' times on those at the strip and they offered pretty awesome handling. With lots of spirited driving I got a little over 20,000 miles out of a set. They are very expensive tires; about $240 a piece.
The Goodyear GSD3's are awesome and much better in the rain. Good dry traction but not as good as the BFG KDs. They wear out very quickly though; most likely less than 20,000 miles but they aren't nearly as expensive as the BFGs.
Stay away from the stock Goodyears that came of fbodies. They're terrible for performance.

One more vote for the GS-D3's. I've had them in a couple of my TA's and they were awesome in every aspect.
Never bought them myself, though, since they are so much $$$ and you can get pretty close to same performance with less $$$, which is pretty important in a daily driver. Weekend cruisers are a different thing.
IMO. of course.

Probably the best tire (or tyre) that you've never heard of would be the Vredstein Ultrac Sessanta. I had never heard of them until last summer when I was looking for new kicks. Tomzwheels had a deal running with the TTII's that I wanted and these tires. I was kind of unsure because I had never heard of them before. Then I looked for reviews online. You gotta look a little, but everybody loves them. They have great grip and a lot of supercars like to run them. I didn't get much of a chance to test them out last year before I put the car away for the winter, but they definitely look killer! They gripped great in corners for sure, and I will be testing them at the track at least once or twice this summer.
They were pretty cheap too! I haven't looked to buy them from other places, but they were $150 a tire or so IIRC, for 315's too!
Good luck with your tire choice though, there are plenty of good ones out there, I just like being different. Everyone is always asking me about the Vredstein's cause they've never seen them and everyone thinks they look sweet!![Mr. Cool](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_cool.gif)
