I'm with this guy. ^^^
That is a horrible buldge on those Z06s. Those are 10.5" rim the biggest tire you should really even think about putting on that rim would be a 315 and that's still out of it's safety recommendation rage. Primarily a 305 would be what you'd want.
For a 335 tire to be run "safe" you need to run a 11.5" wheel. I contemplated putting a 335 on my 11" wheels but went against it because of the "cloud like" sensation you'd feel in the corner, plus I just think bulge looks bad...that's just me though.

ok sorry back form dead.
ok tires give a rating on what size rim you should use. like 9-10.5 or whatever. how do you know the best size. should a person just got for the top number. like 275 say 9.5 is max so is that right?
or can i run 9 in with the 275 and be fine?
how do you figure out best number?

this thread is going to continue to go on and on. just look at the factory recommendations and go from there people, don't be greedy. just like parts, you wouldn't skimp on the quality of parts on your car would you? no, so don't skimp on safety, get the wheel widened to the right width if you want a 335, which should be 11.5" or more.

according to the NITTO web site the narrowest rim you should use on a 335/30/18 NT555R is 11.5 the recommended width is 12.0 and the widest is 12.5
BFG KDW'2 and Michelin PS2's ALSO recommend 11.5-12.5 and Pirelli Pzero's should be mounted on 12-13inch rims. You are definitely outside the recommended widths by at least an inch. the 315's i looked at recommend 10.5 as the smallest width rim to use. so they are also pushing the limits. good luck on your blow out.

I have 18x12's on the back of my truck with 335 nittos. They fit quite well and I don't think I'd go much narrower with the wheel size for 335's. The tires on the green Camaro look like they are bulging a lot to me...

i ran 295's on my 10.5 and were way too thin, i dont like how those 335 look on THAT SIZE rim. but i think 315's would be perfect. we are talking regular tire or dr's?

yes i'm serious, when a tire goes out on you and you're in a ditch because you wanted 20mm more for a look behind your car when you could've gone with a 315 but instead you went with a 335 and had it bulge remember this thread.
this thread is going to continue to go on and on. just look at the factory recommendations and go from there people, don't be greedy. just like parts, you wouldn't skimp on the quality of parts on your car would you? no, so don't skimp on safety, get the wheel widened to the right width if you want a 335, which should be 11.5" or more.

But none the less, they'll do what they want. Then ask for proof as to why they can't run a 335 on a 10.5" wheel. They're the same people that want proof that you can't run a 5x120mm bolt pattern on a fbody.
