Default ZR1 rims +56 offset and a 11 inch wide?

Will rims with a +56 offset work on my SS. And will my stock F1's work on an 11inch rim???? Thanks Tony

I think they would stick out pass the fender. I think mine are a 46mm offset and they stick out a very little bit on the rear and almost perfectly flush with the front. A 56mm offset would stick out another 0.4inches. A 245 tire is only 9.6inches wide so it may look like one of those mexican low rides.

the 56mm will tuck into the fender more than a 46mm offset, and teh stock 275 tire might be able to seat on the wheel but it will perform and look like ****

+50 offset is ideal. I have them in stock as well.

I wouldnt recommend putting a 275 on it...it will be VERy stretched. Why add the extra weight if you arent also adding the extra benefit of more rubber.

I just purchased a set of ZR1's for my SS with 11's on the rear and the offest is 50mm.

I'd like to know if I'm going to have any rubbing issues....

Plus i can't seem to decide on tire size.... 285/40/17 or 315/35/17...... any suggestions ??

315s of course. No sense in adding the weight of 11s, unless you are getting the added benefit of big meats as well.

50 offset is perfect, shouldnt have any issues. BFH mod is always a possibility, but its an easy DIY.

sorry..forgot you were new. BFH Big frickin hammer. Sometimes 315s rub the inner fenderwell. Looking straight on at the wheel on the drivers side usually it may rub at approx 10oclcok position. Pound that area in just a bit and your good to go. by the way DIY is do it yourself.

Big F'ing Hammer. You "massage" the inner wheel well, where the tire has rubbed off the undercoat . . .

The DYI, I got. It was just the BFH part... Lol !!

And if the 315 rubs, wouldn't the 285 be a better fit ??

Oh yeah, one more thing.... can I lower my car with these 11's on the rear ?? I think that would look pretty sweet if it was possible

I ran for a few days some ZR1's with the 50mm offset 17x11. My car also has an Eibach prokit. No hammer needed as well as no rubbing problems. I do have the lip rolled though.

"315s of course. No sense in adding the weight of 11s, unless you are getting the added benefit of big meats as well."

I don't know much about tires. So your saying the 285/40 would weigh more then the 315/35? Another question is, will 315' stick out passed the fender more then 275's? , also , if you run 275's on the rear, would you want something smaller on the front? Sorry if these are dumb questions. Thanks!

Yes!

The +56 mm offset and 7.4 inches of backspacing is the factory GM offset and backspacing for the 17 X 9.5 wheel!

As far as the 275/40/17 tire working on a 17 X 11 inch wheel, I would have to say U will be taking life and limb in hand, if U could even get a tire house to mount them up.

I run the 335/35/17's out back on my 17 X 11's!

315's are for ninny boys!

If your car is "NOT" lowered U should not have any rubbing issues unless your back seats are full and U have a full load of groceries in the hatch!

When I did my 315 17X11 upgrade back in 2000 I installed a BMR adjustable panhard bar to eliminate any tire rub, (which I encountered while entering offramps @ 65 mph or above).

When I upgraded to the 335's this past spring I did have to do the "BFH" mod, to alleviate the slight tire rub I had.

My car is not lowered and is mainly drag raced and street driven daily without any problems to speak of, and I believe due to the non lowered status I have never needed to "ROLL" the fender lips.

As far as the tires sizes for the 17X11 are concerned I personally would not put on anything smaller than the 315's!

335's if U want the ultimate look and handling, but the price is considerable when using the 335's just something else to consider!
