Hello,

I was looking into purchasing some black replica Z06 style 18x10.5 Motorsport ZO6 rims. I drive a 1995 Z28 convertible and I was wondering if these wheels will fit my car or will I have to work on the fenders to make them fit?

hope you guys can help me out with this. i want to know what would be the PERFECT fit for my 93Z28 without banging out the wheel wells or the use of spacers. my set up so far is chrome Z06 18 x 9.5 with 275/35 for the front and 18 x 10.5 with 305/35 in the rear. now my question.....wuts the perfect OFFSET for both the front and rear? some help would be greatly appreciated...going to get them real soon!

I perfers the 40 mm range, but you are not going to find it in the Z06 market . . . You want as close the 50 mm as you can find. YOu will more than likely have to do mods on the rear of the car.

What about we update this thread with issues with wheels and tires and lowering with various springs and using spacers? That just totally effects what you can and can't fit.

im looking for a rim for my 97 that has a pretty nice lip about 3+ inches or more that would still let the rim sit even with the front and rear fenders, so would that mean i need a negitive offset?? and how much of a negitive offset (or any offset) will work so the wheel would fit like i want and still have a nice lip?

Negative offset wheels do not fit the 97 + F-Car. The size of the "lip" is really up to how the manufacturer makes the wheel. I-Forged has made sime nice "lipped" wheels, do a search on them.

i've checked them out and there expensive, i was thinking about getting like a 45mm off set rim, i checked out some tt2's and there were the right bolt pattern but wrong offset they were a 40mm offset so i was thinking getting a 45mm may have them sit even with the fender and still have the lip..

lots of determining factors here including the design of the spokes, and the thickness of the mounting pad. Any custom built wheel, ie...boyd coddington, iforged, fikse, etc etc etc can pretty much be tailor made to what you want. You will find some others that may suit your needs as well...that are right off the shelf. For example...the Privat Profile. Not a 3" lip, but close. Very nice wheel and you can search this site to find some pics

It's OK, stock is 56 mm.

the inside of my rim has a few stamps, 1 of them says 18"x9.5" and another says
OFF 50, I'm assuming the wheel is 50mm offset.

From what I've read they've been discontinued.

A quick question about backspacing,

If the stock WS6 rim is 9" wide, how can it have a 50m offset and 7" of backspace?

50mm is ~2inches. So, the backspace would be 4.5" (9/2) +2" = 6.5" of backspace. Or am I doing something wrong with my math?

You are very close on your math.

50 mm, is nearly 2" as you state, the only thing you are missing is the "thickness" of the rim bead/flange. A 9.5" wide wheel is 9.5" wide "between" the rim beads, so the little "flange" makes the "overall" width of the wheel "approximatly" 10 + inches wide, so in your equation :

BS = 10"/2 + the offset, thus 7" . . .

Offset and backspace are not directly related, but close . . .

Ahhh, gotcha. Just to clarify, the stock WS6 or SS rim is 9" wide not 9.5" correct? So all rims would have ~1" of extra width because of the "flange"?

As far as I know OEM Camaro and Trans Am 17" wheels are 9" wide.

The extra width for the flange varies, based upon "what" the flange is made of, I.E. a rolled steel rim lip would be fairly small, where a cast aluminum rim lip would be fairly thick. But a rough ~1" is fair.

And you are welcome, the wheel parameters can get confusing.
