^^One more question about the rear spacers, with the 1.5" (38.1mm) spacers cut 61mm offset down to 23mm, will the rear wheel stick out alot?

If everything doesn't work out, can I put a 0.25" (6.35mm) slip on spacer with stock wheel stud on the rear? With the 0.25" spacers, my rear offset will cut down to 54.65mm. I'll have to forget about the new brake setup if that's the case. I just don't wanna replace the wheel stud on the rear, too much work. Maybe it's time for some BFH mod.

I use Skulte for most of my spacer info and research so, the link IMHO is fine . .

As for your spacer choice . . .

FYI, a spacer effectively changes the offset of the wheel, so to determine if the spacer is OK in size, you convert the spacer thickness to mm and subtract it from the offset of the desired wheel. There are 25.4 mm per inch.

So, the front you propose a 1.5" = 38.1 mm: therefore 61-38.1= 22.8 mm . . . and that offset will stick out of the wheel well. . .

Front wheels on F-Cars can run a 38 mm offset (minimum) so do the math in reverse. To get a 38 mm offset on the wheel that has na offset of 61 mm you need a spacer at 23 mm or ~ 7/8" thick . . .

Out back you can probably sneek a 1" spacer, to get you an new offset of 35.6 mm . . . .

Make sence?

So ultimately the spacers you propose are WAY to thick!

1/4" is the thickest spacer I'd advise to run with stock studs.

Rear: needs a 1" to 1 1/8" adapter/spacer to work . . .

Front: honestly do not know, never have tried a 10" wide wheel up front. . . .

Ok im sorry to just jump in like this i dont have much time to sit and read through all the posts but i need quick help on a Drag racing wheel and tire size. i have a 2002 ls1 camaro and i currently have 245/35/20's up front and 275/35/20's in the back, i need to know what size drag racing wheels and tires would work good on my baby, i dont care what size is up front but im looking for a 8 inch slick in the rear, like i said any size wheel and tire oh and i have the stock disk brakes front and back. so any1 think they can throw me a quick tip or wheel size? greatly appriciated guys.

...noone knows? if noone can help ill probly just get a set of stock wheels from a wrecked 02 ls1 and put drag slicks on them..but id rather have a set of drag wheels.

Well first of all, I for one, am about the only person who responds in the post 95% of the time . . .

Second of all there are 52 pages of info in this post much of which is repeated over and over and over and over . . . .

Third if you read this post you would know I do not know or give any advice on drag wheels and tires . . .

Fourth starting your post with "I don't have much time to read . . ." really makes me and other posters really want to drop everything we are doing to answer a question tha the answer can be found in the main forum with a search. One would probably find 90% of the info you'd need . . .

Well i sincerly appologize, i have a job that makes me work 6 days a week and im currently helping a family member through alcohol rehab and jegs nor any other place ive called and asked could tell me what size drag wheel would fit. again i appologize for sounding so shallow, im just seriously pressed for personal time and i knew that there was a room full of experts who have done such mods, other than the guys who read books about cars and think there a mechanic. thank you for your time, its greatly appriciated Xsta.

Oh i finally got someone to talk a lil about drag wheels, so for anyone wanting to know, if your going for an 8in slick for your F-body you can fit a 15 in rim but youll need a 5.5 backspacing is recommended, if your looking for a 15x10 you'll need a 7.5 backspacing. up front most people usually run a 15x3.5 or a 15x4 with a 1.75 backspacing. if anyone has any more questions feel free to ask, if i dont know it ill research it or find someone that does and point you in there direction

Should look OK . . . but a 295/35 is best.

ive seen ur red conv with 295/35 18z, looks good not bad at all.

i have plans to get the NITTO 555R II size 285/35 since they dont come in 295s,

if i put the 285/35 will sides of the wheels go further out from the tire ?

with my previouse SS chrome 10 spoke, i had 245/40 in front when i lay the wheels on the ground the side of the wheel will hit the ground not the tire.

^ Yes I understand . . . with a 285 on a 10.5" wide wheel, there is a strong possiblity that the tire tread would be narrower than the wheel.

Thanks for the comps. I had Kuhmo MX's on mine, I now have Michelin PS on them and they are HUGE compared to the Kuhmos . . .

It's a shame that tire manufacturer's tire sizes physically change so much from brand to brand . . .
