et drags on a bolt on car
will m/t et drags be overkill on a bolt on a4 car with a ss3600? planning to run 15x8 prostars and I can get a great deal with e/t drags on them. Thanks

no I haven't bought them yet. Im either going with a stock 16x8 with m/t drag radial or 15x8 prostar's with e/t drags for the same price. Anyways basically what I'm wondering is if my car will run better with the 16x8 DR since less drag up top when im only making ~340rwhp.

I'd go for the prostars. MT radials are heavy as ****, and so are stock wheels. You're probably looking at 20 lbs less rotating mass on each side with the prostar/et drag combo. That extra weight would more than offset the drag on the big end IMO.

so the drag radials are alot heavier than the et drags? I never would have even considered that. I think i am just a little worried about my tans and rear end with these sticky tires. Would you say "hooking is hooking" and that dead hooking on DR's will put the same amount of stress on the trans/rear as the et's.

I say mid 12s really, With out gears or something else its not going to do much better. The stock rear is just a grenade waiting to blow, its not if, its when..
An A4 is easyer on the tires than a 6 speed, but once a radail starts to spin, its harder to recover that spin. Idk, Iv seen radials go single digits many times..but they bias ply ET Drag will be lighter and the less rotating mass you have the faster you can or could go..

I think you could pull a high 11 if you are at sea level with drag tires. There are two members on this sight I know of that have full bolt on and a tune m6's with drag tires. One has pulled a 12.1 and the other a 12.0, so if you have an auto with a stall there is no reason you shouldn't hit 11.8-11.9. If you are a couple thousand feet in elevation I'm gonna say no though.

Hey guys another question. I just bought the et drags and realized that there are multiple compounds. I got the L4 compound which is the softest of them all and I don't even think they make them any more. So I know the et drags were a bit overkill but now with that factor and knowing I mistakenly bought the softest compound/sidewall will this tire hurt my times or be unsafe? L4 compound is recommended for "lightweight, dragster or cars without rear suspension". Now I'm wondering if I should sell these for either a stiffer sidewall or drag radials.
