How did you fit Prostars/draglites on your LS1 F-body?

How did you fit Prostars/draglites on your LS1 F-body?
How did you guys get Weld Prostars, Draglites or Rodlites (pretty much the same fitment IIRC) to fit over the stock calipers on your LS1 cars? This is mainly for the back wheels since the fronts are pretty easy to fit with just a small spacer. I'll have to put a different rear end on the car soon so this would be a good idea to decide how to get my 15x8 Prostars on there, or decide to just give up and sell them. I'm kinda leery about shaving my calipers down to the point that they may crack or accidentally grinding into the caliper pins and ruining them. I just put new pads on there so I know that makes a lot of grinding neccessary.

We now have companies like Billet Specialties and Weld Racing that sell rims that require very little grinding and can hold up on the street. If you run a spacer in the rear you won't have to do much grinding but you won't much thread engagement with your lugs.

No offense to anyone on this forum guys, but honestly sometimes the answers that can have your project on hold for days until somebody with knowledgeable solutions to a problem decides to not think it's retarded to ask questions when thats what this site is all about information, trial, an error.... So with that being said i've been stuck in the same boat for awhile now with these damn drag lights, but i haven't given up on grinding out the solution so here is my progress.... Not completely finished yet, but......

Have any of you guys had any problems with your breaks since you've done this?? I'm not gonna risk it on the front since they do most of your stopping... So i put on a quarter in spacer in front. I'm gonna attempt to grind the rears completely though.

BTW what part of St. Louis are you in LSWNDR?
I'm hesitant to put spacers on the back because that's where all of the torque is being applied, as opposed to the fronts which just hold the car up as it rolls along. Also, the tires would stick out a little with a spacer. I would have longer ARP studs on the back though, either 2.5" or 3.25". Think I would be OK with a good spacer (as opposed to the crappy universal Mr. Gasket ones I have on the front) and 3.25" ARP studs? I'm not really launching too hard at this point.

You are not going to get a 15x7 or 15x6 to clear the front calipers
You need a 15x10 with 7.5" of backspacing for the rear

I grounded and test fitted until had clearance. I'm using 1/4 spacer up front with no grinding and grinding the rear caliper with 3/8 spacer. I'm running 15x8 out back for the time being, eventually I will switch to 15x10s and run no spacer, going to have to grind some more.

I used to run Prostars on my Camaro, but could never get the fear of knowing my Calipar was now paper thin out of my mind, so I sold them for some Weld RT wheels.
Welds RTS wheels will fit front AND rear with NO grinding, and NO spacers, so although it is recommended that you always use a hardened ARP stud with drag wheels, you can use your stock length wheel studs safely.
