Default ET Streets or ET Street Radials?!?!?

I've spent so much time researching and still cant decide on wether to go with a 28x11.5-15 ET street or a 275x60-15/295x55-15 ET street radial, im going to be using a 8.5" prostar for the rear.... keep in mind its a 550rwhp 6spd street car, i just want something that will give me a good launch on the street

Bias plys..What size wheels? The 28x11.5s are way little, ment for like an 8in wheel. I had them for a day on my car and looked like ****!! Sold them and got 28x13.5s. Seen low low 1.6 60fts with a lot more left on the table in a 3600+ car with only a cam!

I have only ran the 555R & they are a decent tire especially in the rain. Since I will have a 9" soon I am going with something that hooks better & have been thinking about what tire to run. I dont drive mine much in the rain so wet traction isnt important to me, was considering some ET street bias plys but might go with the MT DRs after reading this from the recent post

I right now have the ET Streets (bias plys) Iv cut 1.62s-1.64s 60fts out of a 6 speed and run slower and lost mph vs the Hoosier Radials. I cut a 1.70 with the Radials and ran a hell of a lot faster on them. The Bias Plys hook but grow as you get down the track, Im going back with radials..more fun, faster and could drive it on the street more.

I would go with the Bias ply ET streets for track use. I would not however use these tires on the street for a couple different reasons. For one if you get stuck in rain they absolutely suck and are not suitable to drive on in rain even though they are DOT approved, I have been there and done that and it sucked. For a second point they are not able to be plugged if you should run over a nail or something so if that happens the tire that gets a flat is ruined, once again been there done that. The ET street radials are a better tire if you are going to be using them on the street as well but as the track they will not hook as well. You are going to need to put some heat in them to get them to hook at the track. With the bias ply ET streets you really don't need much heat to get them to dead hook. Good Luck with your decision.
