Do you really need a 28" tall tire?

Yeah it depends on your setup. I have the 315s om my 17x11 zr1s but I've kinda out grown them plus I just found a nail in the passenger tire. Btw fwiw I have a cam only m6 with a lot of weight reduction so it's hard to get my car to hook on the street. I plan on purchasing the 295s next.

What gears do you have? Auto or 6 speed.

If its an auto and you have at least 3.73's, go for the 295's.
The 295's would also be a good choice with a 6 speed car to help it stick.

Def go with the 295's. I have a 3600 and 3.73's and my car loves my 28's. Plus you'll be gaining some MPH in 3rd, it'll let you run 145-49 in 3rd with them.

I lost some time at the track when I ran a 295 with my A4 and 3.73s - but I am at 4400 ft and have a crappy DA most the time. I put down 415rwhp corrected (like 350 uncorrected).

We have usually poor track prep so the 295 finally got me to hook, but then not enough power turn them at the top. I swapped to 4.10 gears to get my gear ratio back, but now have traction issues again

I vote for 295s. BTW they are 27.2" not 28"
