Why do so many Replica wheels have fake bolts?
Like the title says, I've been shopping for wheels and most of the aftermarket replicas I find for a reasonable price have these godawful fake bolts all around the rim
Anybody know why?

The wheels are trying to replicate 3 piece wheels which consist of, you guessed it, 3 seperate forged pieces that are actually held together by these fasteners. However most replicas are cast wheels, which is basically hot metal poured into a mold compared to wheels carved from a solid block of metal with pressure also applied, making these fasteners purely for appearance.
IMO they look like ****, but to each his own.

And alot them are not even real bolts lol . I detailed a 98 TA that had ruff wheels, I wanted to take the fake bolts out to clean the wheels really good...and the damn things were chrome plated plastic and started breaking trying to remove them . As if bolts with no purpose werent bad enough
