Theres a good number of color combos in which black wheels look straight badass. I don't see anything wrong with it. It's better than green or orange or some other flashy ricer color.

I'm not a huge fan of black rims with the polished lip (even though there a plenty of examples where Ide consider giving up an organ for). As long as you keep'em clean I couldn't be happier with how mine turned out!

black wheels look good on some cars and not so much on others. its a matter of preferance just like anything else. ive had black rims on my red t/a since 03 and i cant see putting any other color rim on the car. any of the future rims i purchase will more than likely be black.

For me it was because of all the brake dust generated. It's impossible to keep polished wheels clean and looking good. Black gives it a performance/custom look without having to wash wheels everyday. So in a nutshell, I guess I'm lazy. But they do look good on performance cars.

Not to get off topic, but a fad would be trucks with low profile tires...that's what I love about freedom of expression.

Proceed.

That's TOO much black for that car, IMO. It would have looked better with a polished lip.
Do u know what size of rims and what brand off wheel is on Trusts TA??

I debated what I wanted to do for a while with my CCW's. They were polished, and I hated the upkeep with them. So I decided to go powdercoated, and tried a pearl black. It's nice because it kind of matches the metallic flake in the pewter paint.

Here's a pic showing a little bit of the pearl/metal flake in both the paint and wheel. You really don't see it in the wheel unless it's direct sunlight on it, which is a cool subtle effect.

I went with black because I have a black/pewter/smoke theme going with with the hood stripes as well as the clear/smoked side markers.

Black wheels look good with black, silver, grey, pewter cars but not with any other color.

I despise the wheels on my car (previous owner did it), but until I can afford the wheels I want mine will be painted black to hopefully blend in.

It really depends on the color of the car

for example I have a red 98 Z, came with chrome 5 spokes, didn't like em so I plasti dipped them flat black, looked alright wasn't horrible. Now they are painted GM Gunmetal metallic and look awesome.

I think black wheels look best on black, silver, dark gray, white, maroon, and some blue....

it also depends whether its flat satin or gloss finish.

First is the GM Gunmetal metallic
followed by chrome with matte black center caps
and black plasti dip

Can't stand the all black look. But just about any color car look's fine with a brushed or gloss aluminium outer diameter edge.

There are a few that look good with polished lip, but all blk is hard to pull off, ends up looking like 4 spare tires. Chrome=sweet

First off if you are going to get "shiny" wheels don't get chrome because its looks cheap. They are also heavier than their forged aluminum counterpart. Now the problem with the aluminum is the upkeep on polishing them if you actually drive the car. I liked to drive my trans am so when I had the polished CCW's on them they looked great when clean but its was a PITA to keep them that way. I went satin comp grey CCW's on the vette because I wanted a more aggressive look and wanted to spend less time cleaning and more time driving. Black/dark wheels looks great but it has to be the right wheel otherwise they will look like crap.

The right set of gloss black wheels on the right car looks great.

I agree there are some set ups that make me want to ******* gouge my eyes out.

But there are some done right.

Those of you bashing all black wheels in general are ignorant or just plain retarded and closed minded.
