17s or 18s look good. 18s fill in the wheel wells a bit better than 17s. 18s make you go a lil' slower tho

Sorry to hijack, but this may be along the same line of questioning
I'm having a tough time deciding between 9.5" width and 10.5" width for the back wheel for Z06 rims.
Pros of 9.5": able to rotate tires easier. (particularly helpful when buying expensive 18");
easier to obtain (18 X 10.5 w/ 53mm offset is forever on backorder)
cheaper than 10.5" wide

Pro's of 10.5": able to run bigger tires in the rear. (285mm or 295mm section width would be ideal for me, I don't know if you can run this on 9.5" wheels)
Traditional Z06 width for rear wheel
Everybody and their brother has this size so I'm used to "how they look"
XstaZ, MadIce, and Steve1969 (sir bling) ran this size

Sorry but in all the searched threads, no one addressed this. I think Xsta touched on this once, but it didn't answer all my questions. I think that it fits into CamaroZ28's line of questioning.

18 x 9.5" with a 50 mm offset on all four corners will fit very nice with 275/35YR18 tires. Nice fit in the wheel wells and be able to maintain rotating tires if that is important.

18" x 10.5" with a 53 mm offset - DO NOT get a bigger offset - you will regret it! 295/35YR18 tires.

All in all look great fit great and the tire choices are improving everyday, so the prices are coming down.

A wheel upgrade to 17" just isn't worth it in my book. I am not a huge drag racer so the added wieght, is no issue either. The added benifits of improve cornering are great!

This pic is of my SS with 9.5's front and 10.5's rear with 58 mm offsets, thus why the wheels are a little tucked into the wheel wells.

cool man. i have a question: the distance from the ground to the fenderwell above the tire - how much of a difference is each tire size (16", 17", 18") going to make on the final measurement? in other words, with a 16" rim, you might get 25", but with a 18" rim does that mean you'll get 27"? i'm pretty sure that's a no, just because of the tire profile, but i'm just curious?

No it won't be that big of a difference. But I do know its slightly higher off the ground with the Z06 rims. When I had my 17inch TT2's they were 1/2inch taller then stock because I ran a 285/40/17 tire, but the speedo was still perfect.

Just got my zo6 wheels thanks to Todd's hard work, he said that I was lucky cuz the zo6 wheels that I got, the 18x10.5 w/ 53mm offset and 18x9.5 w/ 53mm offset was the only one in the country. This offsets are on national back order. I ordered this wheels from t-byrne about 4 months ago and Todd went out of his way to help me although I dint order my wheels through him. Thanks again man. the rear wheels has about an inch and a 1/4 lip so the wheel is really nice. Just got my dms springs yesterday Ill put everything togethere on my next day off. Ill post some picks when im done.

Toxictexan already has this offsets on his car and I think his got some picks.

No matter which ones you get 17's or 18's. They will both look great! I have No problems with my 17 x 9.5's. They look great! The 18's do fit closer to the finder which makes for good looks, so point being, your not going to go wrong with either size! Its all up to you.

Hope you don't mind input from a TA owner (Camaro Posts)

Newb question. Replicas weigh more then OEM. What are OEM's? Also, how much will 18's effect 1/4 times? Are Z06' rims even a good choice if your going to make your car fast in the 1/4?

WTB-a-Hawk - 18" x 9.5" (275/35YR18) and 18" x 10.5" (295/35YR18). Tires are Michelin Pilot Sports.

No it didn't slow my car down if your talking everyday use, but I don't recommend drag racing in them. I was still pretty good at hooking on the track for having 18's, but I have a set of 16's with BFG DR's for drag racing use. The Z06's I mainly use for show/street and autocross.
