Default How much of a drop should you expect? (Answers Inside)

for a survey, i want everyone with their lowered car to go out and measure the distance from the ground to the middle of their fender (highest point above the center of the tire) in inches, and report it, along with your tire size (16", 17", ect).

do this for the front and back, and only on the passenger side (the driver's side sits higher without a driver in it)!! also, i think it would be beneficial to list your type of f-body (camaro or firebird) and also whether or not you have extra weight (other than stock) in your trunk (stereo, dead bodies) or elsewhere in your car that might make your setup sit lower than stock weight would.

the idea behind all of this is to give all of the non-lowered f-body owners something to use to gauge which lowering springs will give them the drop that they want. the ratings that companies put on their springs are crazy nowadays, and the rating responses vary so much depending on which vendor you buy them from that there really is no point in having a rating system (in my opinion). anyway, when you are done, fill out the survey kinda like this:

Camaro, DMS Springs (Rear Spring Spacer Removed), 17" Rims (275/40/17) All Around, Stock Weight

Front Ground to Fender - 25.75
Rear Ground to Fender - 26

thanks a lot, i would really appreciate this, and i think it would help people who want to lower their car in the future decide what kind of drop they want. if most of the assortment of springs available for our cars are covered in this survey, i think this thread would be an excellent sticky in the handling/braking section. i browse this forum everyday, and at least once every other day there is a "which springs lower the best" thread. please let me know if you have any better suggestions for a similar survey! thanks.

Driver's side is .5" lower in the rear without a driver (so driver's side is 26.5).

why are some of these distances higher in the front than the back...does this mean that the rear is lower?

theres only 1...the guys on 18's with hotchkis...hios tire pressure is probably kinda down there...

Hey guys, what is the overall size of the wheels and tire vs. the ground to fendor?... i say also put the size of the overall wheel+tire combo along with the rim so people can as well see how much spacce betweeen the tire and fender they want. Make sense?

also put the amnount of drop that is reported by the spring manufacturer. I.E Pro-Kit 1.5" drop BMR 1" drop etc.

GC Coilovers, 17" factory SS rims, 275X40X17 BFG KDW

26" front, 26-3/4" rear.

I think I'm going to drop my rear to between 26" & 26-1/2" in the near future.
