Stock ZR1 wheels with wheel spacer for rear?
Car: 99 SS vert with factory ZR1s.
I am thinking about putting wheel spacer just for the rears to bring the tires out a little. Since my car is lowered, i want a more flush look in the back.
Has anyone done this? Other than wheel spacers, what else do I need to add/replace?
Thanks!
Sid.

1inch spacers (the adapter style). Should give you what you want. I did it about 7 yrs ago. Looking back on it, some angles looked ghetto because the wheels were still narrow, just pushed out.

I had some 3/8 spacers laying around so I tossed them on, made a nice improvement in the stance but far from anything "ghetto" and the lugs still got I think 5 turns before starting to snug. Probably too small of a difference for anyone to even notice.

I dont think it would look ghetto and the only way you would know it was pushed out 1" is if u know it comes stock pushed in 1", it would be flush which I dont think is ghetto. I actually want to do the same thing. I think it looks gay with 1.5" of fender hanging over my rear tires

He's probably referring to his SS wheels as ZR1s since they look identical. Just different sizes/offsets. I call them zr1s as well. He probably has a 17x9 wheel with a 56mm offset.

So you guys can see how they sit. Here is one of my old cars with 17x9 zr1s and a 1inch spacer. Ghetto wasn't the right word, I just have used ridiculous. Its hard to see in the photo, but although the wheel sits out like a 17x11 wheel does, its still a narrow wheel. It just doesn't look right. I recommend just buying a pair of 17x11 wheels for the rear.

I just bought a set of real ZR1's that came off a Vette. They had 305's out back and now I'm sad to see that they are bottoming out bad on my bump stops. I guess I will need a small spacer to get them off there. I don't want to spend too much though as I'm just trying to sell the car at this point.

remove the bumpstops and cut off the mounting tabs - otherwise, you're wheels will hang on them when you lift the car
the 50mm versions are known for rubbing on the inner side of the fenderwell - just BFH the hell out of it... or do what I did and let the tires rub some nice shiny spots so you'll know exactly where to hammer

Won't I still need a spacer though since the wheel will be over the bump stop? I had 11" Fikse wheels on there before with 315's and took my wheels on and off a few times while the car was jacked up like that and never had this problem.
