Default C5 Gunmetal Z06's on an ls1 t/a??? Yay or Nay?

Hey all, well i rescently put my 02 z06 back to rest in a garage and let my 98 t/a take over the DD duty until i pick up a 4 banger beater... Well i was bored 1 day and decided to take the factory wheels off my 02 z06 and put them on my trans am to see how it looks.

I personally like em, but i think they suit the z06 better, but again, if i keep these gunmetals on the trans am, i will put Black C6 spyders on my Z

So what do you guys think.

T/A Before:

T/A after:

And now the z06 with the same wheels:

So should i upgrade rims on my z06 to the spyders, and leave C5's on my trans am? Or should i just put everything back, and look for something else for the t/a?

Thanx

You could sell the c5z rims and buy whatever you want.

Personally I would upgrade rims on the vette and put the z rims on the ta just like you are thinking.

Thanx for the feedback mr lemons. And selling C5Z's is definitely not an option... I really do like the look of them for some reason... If i do keep the c5's on the trans am... im planning to lower it a bit as well. Im honestly leaning towards getting those spyders for the Z as well as some LT's for the Z

That is what I would do then! Lowering would be a must. I love my bmr springs. Perfect height and ride good. 1.50 short times to boot!

Whose pewter car?
Thanx for leading me on the right path

Oh and the car is a silver 99 formula that is my brothers... Its an M6 with a Very mild H/C/I set up, he Daily drove it for a while, which got him a respectable 240 miles to a tank... but he bought himself a 95 civic hatch which drives 300 miles on $30 fill up... so she gathers dust in a garage now
And NO, i wont ever let him sell it! Anyway, here's what it has:

Lid, LT headers, Catted Y, ported 5.3 heads, 224...something...114 lsa cam ( sorry, im a newb when it comes to internals ), ls6 intake, hooker catback with closed cutout, RPM tuned... She sits on C5 Y2K's replicas and Put down a dissapointing 407/370 with no cats and open cutout, so im guessing the numbers are a tad lower now with cats and closed cutout (goddamn SoCal chp constantly kept pulling him over for loud exhaust )... Honestly, to tell you the truth, currently it feels just a tad slower than my current Z TQ wise, top end idk... lol.... Since my bro rarely uses it, i can use it any time i want hehe...

Snapped a few pix in the garage since you asked about it

Lighting makes it look pewter. Honestly a tad over 400 is about right for that setup. Might be a HAIR low, but nothing I would be bummed about.
Switching to a set of afr 205s would make It a different car. would compliment that cam perfect and make a mean street car.
BTW.. my cousin is stationed in so cal.. he has a m6 Ws6 black. Borla catback is only mods.. wants to sell possibly, know anyone looking? Asking price is probably about 6k.

Honestly I don't think he will mess with the engine. His next mod is 9" rear end and perhaps some suspension

The Z06's look great on a black car. IMO the TA is the only car besides a vette that can pull off the 17 - 18 combo and look good. As stated I would lower the car and put more focus onto the Z06! Spiders are going to look wicked on there....

eibach springs are a must on the trans am imo... They should really set it off.

And damn, i really love the spyders. But those rims without tires are at least 900 shipped which is getting a tad too pricey for me... I might need to look for a better deal than that... If anyone has a link to where i can get them cheaper than 900 shipped, feel free to post up links

Because of the price, ive been considering black C6Z06 replica rims for about 620 shipped... But i dont know, i need more opinions on that...

Not a big fan of the C5Z's, but they look better on the Bird than the stockers.

I'd keep them on the Bird, and upgrade the wheels on the Vette.

And I think the Spyders are ugly, I owuldn't run them on anything.

Honestly, I htink the GS wheels are my new favorite C6 wheel. Either that or the straight spoke C6Z's.

I think the spyders look killer and they are more fresh. I like the factory Z wheels cuz they have a "down to business look to them". I like the spyders over the straight spoke C6Z's cuz the straight spokes just cuz i think ive grown old on the look. Maybe email 6LE and see if he can do a better price if you pick them up.

I can get you any of those and can definitely hook you up if you pick up in person.

You could even look at a few of the designs in person, hold up to your car and see what you like...

Oh, and my $.02... I like the C5Z's on the Bird, had them on mine... HOWEVER since you have a real Z06 I'd keep the rims on there and put Sypders on the Bird.

Grey Spyders, or better yet IMHO Black Spyders would look KILLER on the Bird...

If you decide to get new wheels for the Bird, get something different, everyone and their brother is running Vette wheels. IMO none of them look quite right on Birds.

And you need soemthing with some kind of lip to look right on a T/A....those Spyders have no lip, it annoys the crap out of me.

If you go C6Z, go deep dish, and even the deep dish y2K's would look good on the Bird, as far as vette wheels go.
