Default Need wheels polished

Does anyone know of a aluminum wheel polisher in the DFW area who polishes aluminum wheels? I have a set of Boyd Coddingtons and they need a freshen up. The tires will be off of the wheels to aide in the ultimate shine.

Anyone from the DFW are all the way up to Oklahoma City, I have a truck and will travel to drop the wheels off.

Thanks!

How about a Mothers "power ball", a jug of their wheel polish, an electric drill, and a little elbow grease??

Got a pic of them, wonder how bad they are.

I hand polish mine and have great success. The powerball/cone can be a PITA and slings the product around too much (see waste).

Good sign you might be using too much polish. Less is more with aluminum polish. You want to use as little as you can get by with and work sections at a time.

Wet the ball and wring it out/sling out water. Either lightly swirl the polish onto the tip/edges or small dime size drops. Dab the power ball on the areas of the wheel you want to polish to force it into the foam. Start the drill slow for a few seconds before going to high speed.

That should result in no slinging unless you don't get enough water from the rinse out of it.

Hand jobs suck, they never have the brand new shine like a proffesional with a buffer on a stand. They are the Fury wheels 18x10 - 42mm offset, 18x9 - 38mm offset.

There use to be a guy in Oklahoma City that did it but he closed. I am thinking about sending them back to Boyds but I bet that aint cheap.

A pro makes it look like a mirror again and then you aply Zooks to make it last.

So, does anyone have a shop locally? Thanks!

So far the closest I have found is in Missouri. Mirror Finish Polishing. Wish I could get somewhere within 200 miles of Dallas or Oklahoma City.

I think for something like this, I'd read up as much as possible and just do it myself or at least thats what I'm doing to save some money. But that's just me and my $0.02 though.

Talked to Boyds, $50.00 per wheel. Not a fan of doing it myself, thats what proffesionals are for. Still waiting on the company in Missouri.

Thanks 9WhiteCamaro9.

not everyone can handle polishing wheels. depending on the design and condition it may be better off in professionals hands.

Y/W. I don't want you to think I was being a smart *** or anything. No hard feelings about my post cause after I re-read it, it sounded to me like I was being a smart ***.
