Default All with custom wheels please enter (Fikses, iForged, HRE....)

Hey guys, I am getting ready to order next week and I want to find out the correct offsets for these wheels. It is for a '99 T/A M6, and sizing will most likely be 17X9.5 and 17x11.

If you have pics...Postem up!

TIA,
-nick

Well it matters what car you have firebird or camaro. The camaros are the 50's and firebirds are the 30's as the fenders on the firebirds are about 20mm bigger. But if you are ordering custom wheels forget it and have it speced. And I would run different backspacing depending on the maker! IMO forget HRE, FIKSE, IFORGED. Go with CCW they are cheaper, lighter, and look the same. The only differance is CCW use bolts to hold the 3 pieces so you can take apart your self- even better!

niphilli,
I responded to you in an e-mail already, but thought I'd post here as well. I went with +56mm 17x9.5 and +50mm 17x11 on my TA.
I haven't autocrossed them yet, but I am worried about the 17x11s hitting on the rear fender...I'd sure like to avoid rolling/cutting those fenders. But, I'm not sure they could have smaller offsets and not rub on the inside. I have had *no* rubbing on aggressive street driving & practice drag launches.
Crap...I suck at the internet! You'll just have to follow this link to see it:

My 17" x 9.5" Fikse FM-5's on the Berger SS are 37 mm offset.

<img src="http://members.aol.com/shudbdrwg/images/berger93-1.jpg" alt=" - " />

I just ordered some new 18" x 9.5" and 18" x 10.5" wheels fro my Red SS both with a 38 mm offset.

Just FYI.

Shane is correct. 56mm for 17x9.5 and 50mm for 17x11. Atleat that was what it is on T/As.

My car was also bright red also.If you have any questions u can email me. I did all the work myself at my fathers bodyshop so i dont know the price of it all, but its still not completely done. The red underhood is perfect for candy apple, its not at all bad. Theres alot of custom work on the car also , ALOT OF WORK, and its diffently paying off. After it was done, its like i got a new car with the new rims and hood also, its great! Glad you guys like it, sorry to hijack the thread...

Xsta Z 28,

Just trying to help out here, but do you really want a +38mm offset on a 10.5" wheel in the rear?

The reason I ask is the Camaro in the first pic with TT2 has a 46MM offset on a 11" wheel. This equals 4.188" of front space from the mounting pad surface of the wheel the outer face.

A 10.5" wheel with +38mm offset will have a front space of 4.25" meaning your wheels will stick out of the fender another 1/16" than the car above. I think the TT2's are pushing the limits a little, as the wheel is already just a smidge beyond the fender lip as it is, and I wouldn't want any more than that. Here are a couple more pics of TT2's to look at.
Pic 1Pic 2 Pic 3

The 17 x 11" ZR1's with the GS 50mm offset have a front space of 4.03" for comparison. Personally I ordered my 18 x 10.5" wheels with a +44mm offset so the front space will be 4.01" and set flush with the wheel wells like the GS ZR1 wheels. IMO I wouldn't want them to stick out another 1/4" as the +38mm offset will do for you.

FYI Your 17 x 9.5 Fikse wheels on the Berger have a +37mm offset which equals a 3.794 front space. the +38 10.5" wheels ordered will stick out another .46" or almost 1/2"

If you like that look then it is cool to get them, I just want to help and give you a mental picture of what they will look like.

BTW what wheels did you order?

What offsets would you reccomend?

Are these offsets altered when you want a negative offset (bigger lip). If I order them and get the same offset for both wheels will the rear ones just have a bigger lip? I am planning on calling the manufacturer this week and getting the down-low, just want to know what the acceptable ranges are.

I have drawn many wheel profiles in Auto Cad, starting when I bought my ZO6's. And from the information I have compiled the 38mm offset wheel will fill the wheel well out very nicely. The front tire of the Berger, is about flush if not sticks out just a hair past the fender lip, the rear tire on the Berger is tucked in, so the extra 1/2" of width to the rear wheel will fill out the whell well just like the front. - I hope!

Thanks for all the info, it appears to jive with what I have too. I see you've done a ton of wheel research too.

As for what wheels did I buy, well you all just have to wait.

Andy
