Default choosing tires noise comfort: firehawk vs continental

need new tires for 2002 ss.
275/40-17.

I want something that's going to be quiet and comfortable, I don't need max traction. looking at tirerack the 2 best choices seem to be either:

$148 Firestone Firehawk Wide Oval Indy 500 (Ultra High Performance Summer)

$160 Continental ExtremeContact DW (Max Performance Summer)

was wondering if anybody has run either of these and what your opinion of them is?

I have the Firehawk Wide Ovals on the front of my car, and have been pleased with them. I have no experience with the Continentals.

I would never buy any continental tires. When I worked at the Dodge dealer the Chargers & 300s came with continentals from the factory, always had problems with junk tires having belt seperation & causing vibration.

I run the Continental Extreme Contact DW's on my '00 Z28. They stick pretty good in my opinion. Ride is really nice and they're pretty predictable as to when they're gonna let loose. The only time I've had any issue with noise is over fresh paint. It's not a issue with me really though. Very good performance in the rain and in the dry. General road noise I don't hear. I'm pretty happy with them.

This is good to hear. My Firehawk rolled off the truck with Firestone Firehawk tires so I guess I'll have to peel these 15 year old discontinued Goodyear GSC's off for some new rubber. So far I've heard nothing but good things about these Firehawk tires. My tire guy is selling them for $173 balanced and installed.
