Default Will my 10-bolt Explode with Dr?

Guys/gals, yes I'm pushing my luck, but I need to feel what its like for a big clutch dump. I am currently putting down 425hp. Is it really possible for my 10-bolt to fail on maybe a few dumps on some sticky tires? Aren't there many out there that get by for quite a while?

mine grenaded, twisted, all the above when i went to a sticky tire. Ive got a buddy that cuts 1.6 sixties and puts down 400 even to the wheels and his is still kickin. So yeah i say your chances are 50/50

If you were an auto, you'd have no worries....6spd on the other hand, yes, yes it will explode even under stock power.

i would at least save for a 9 inch so your not so crushed when it goes boom, like everyone has said ,auto you would be fine, m6 heads or tails, thats really the only downfall to the m6 cars, besides burning up clutches and crap hyd, i have seen autos go 10s on the 10 bolt,a 9 inch is the best investment you can make,

Default Tick Tick lol

If you dead hook on a 10 bolt with sticky tires espicially m6 its gonna blow. Its like shooting craps eventually your gonna crap out. A4 last longer due to less shock on the rear when launching. My A4 with a stage 5 trans, 3200 vig stall with slicks at the track spraying a 150 shot on a STOCK 10 bolt survived a 1.6 60 ft launch. Its still going strong, but i think i have a factory freak though. Good luck Bro!

You can buy a lot of sets of gears before equaling the cost of a 9"

Though there are people with testimonies saynig their 10 bolt lasted... might as well upgrade it anyway for when you add more power in the future. And if you plan on dumping the clutch with DR's with the power you're already making, you can expect it to either give out or be under a bunch of stress that will soon lead to it breaking. Mods to hold power > power mods I.M.O.

9 inch are not that bad in price, getting mine for a lil over 2 grand. Its worth it in a m6, better gear choices, can launch your lil heart out, and having a car built for the power you make. I know it cost but if you wanna get serious on the track the ten bolt has to go.
