Default Different tire brands on front/rear bad/ugly?

I'm in the market for new tires. However, I need 315s in the rear and 265s or 275s in the front, and I'm finding it somewhat difficult to find matching front/rear tires that I like. I bought my car with M/Ts on the back and Nittos on the front, and thought it looked fine, but I want to hear the opinions of others.

So should I just suck it up and buy all matching tires, or do y'all think it would be okay to have different tires?

I have Nitto 275/40 555's up front and 315/35 555R's in the back. They look great together, I've always loved the simplistic smooth sidewall design of the Nitto's, M/T's are the same way-no bullshit ugly graphics or goofy font writing all over the sidewalls.

I've currently got Nittos on the front and M/Ts on the back and I love it.

Hmm...maybe I'll end up going with a M/T and Nitto combo again.

Do you remember where you bought them? The site I was looking at has 275/40/18's in the 555's, but not 315/35/18's in the 555R's.

I'm putting GS-D3's on the fronts and M/T's on the back with no hesitation On my previous F-bodies, I kept the same tire on all 4 corners but they were regular street tires. IMO if you have DR's, it's just fine to run whatever you want on the fronts.

I have matching 275/40/17 and 315/35/17 nittos on the TA but the
Vette has good years on front with 315 BFG DRs in the rear.

Non matching front to rear tires is OK in my book.

I didn't see you were running 18's. Mine are on 17" wheels, I got them from discount tire direct.

I guess I neglected to mention that, lol, that might explain why I don't see that size in the 555R.

I've never run matching tires. You'll be fine unless a mis-matched tread pattern makes you lose sleep at night.

They make a 305/35/18 nitto 555r .. should be fine with your 275/40/18 front.

Only way I'd be against running different is if running a tread that looks like the Invos...some crazy looking tread. Otherwise, most wouldn't notice.

other than looks it does not really matter

it's not like the rear tires on our cars are going to last long anyways

you end up buying 2 sets of rears for every 1 set of fronts.
