Default What kind of wheel is this?

So i'm tired of sounding like a ricer when I say it's an aftermarket wheel... when I don't know for sure if it is... and I kind of feel like an idiot for not knowing what is on my car...

Thanks in advance all-

That's a chrome 10-Spoke SS wheel. SLP made these wheels, and were the only company you could get them from (if memory serves me right). Saying they're an aftermarket wheel is slightly true, but I believe they were an (expensive!) optional extra when ordering the car.

Either that, or it was the the stock 10-spoke SS wheel that a previous owner had chromed.

lol then they would still be polished aluminum SS wheels...

however, just for your future reference, polished aluminum wheels dont have the same quality shine finish as chrome...

however, chrome rusts, so you win some you lose some
Are they fairly light compared to most? And what would a set of these in almost mint condition be worth?

Thanks for the future reference though. I don't like Chrome too much up-keep

chrome just has a significant more amount of shine to them....

its hard to do a pictorial reference lol but in real life its pretty clear

in all honest the least amount of up keep is pc

both aluminum and chrome will have quite a bit of upkeep...

Regular ten-spoke SS wheels were relatively light. The chrome ones are heavy - chrome is heavy.

Chrome is far easier to upkeep than polished.

Polished wheels have quite a bit of up keep actually. If you don't take care of them then they will begin to look dull then you'll have 2x the amount of work to make them look good again. Just take a look through some of the CCW,Fikse, etc wheel threads about up keep.

Here is some what you'd have to look forward to on a polished wheel..

Here is another thread close to the one above.. Just some literature for your reading pleasure..

But rechroming cost a lot of $$$$$. I think the upkeep on the polished is worth it. They are about the same upkeep, really.
