I would agree with this.

Now I'm just trying to narrow it down between these and those Maxxis tires you were talking about. Any opinions? They all seem like great tires.

In the end, no matter how much you spend they will get burned up.

I was VERY surprised at how well the Maxxis tires did on my car, shocked really.

The thing about street tires is some tend to chunk, loose big pieces or rubber from being hot. The Maxxis didnt chunk.

I am on the Maxxis in this pic.

I've run with these guys before and I'm planning two events this year with them. http://tracksunlimited.net/

Also, I'm planning on doing the June event at the NEW Atlanta Motorports Park. Up for either one?

We dont run in the summer, too hot.

We are going to NOLA Motorsports Park this weekend. Went to Road Atlanta about 3 weeks ago.

Might do Barber April 21 with Rezoom, After that we are done till fall.

Imo it depends. Are you going from a dead stop, or a roll? I have 295 KDW2's and they can't handle my car from a dead stop. Even my old 295 GS-D3's would spin from a dead stop.

If you are roll racing, you should be fine. Then again I'm stalled, so that may have something to do with it.

Damn I just sold 4 c5z wheels with hoosier a6..

They worked. Awesome....... I drive the car fairly hard and have never had an issue with that set up..
They let go once...it was on a small curve country road and the tires weren't fully warm..

And I blasted on second gear mid corner...the car caught a second later.. but if you drive to your abilities..you will do fine.
Tires don't matter if you can't drive worth a crap.

I watched and took notes on everything before trying to kill it

You drive A6s on the street? I run A6s too, but only for Autocross. I wouldn't run them at track days either due to the very limited tire life - they would be compltely gone in one day of track abuse. If, and i mean IF, I were to run an R-comp tire at a track event, the A6 would not be my first choice.

Considering the title of the thread mentioned road racing, I get the distenct impression he won't be going from a stop very often.

I'm purchasing those tonight (315/35/17) too and plan to run them on the street and track days as well. Let's compare notes when you run them.

The NT555, not the 555R or 555RII, correct?
