Made this to move the bump stop onto the axle, just a 2.5 in exhaust clamp and a 1/8 piece of aluminum with holes drilled in it.
I needed to cut the top bump stop mounts to fit the 315's on my 2002 trans am but didn't want to run without bump stops on the street.

The different tire I run is a 16x10 with a 315/45-16, it is big and 27" tall for drag racing.

I have 18x10.5 c5 dd wheels in the back. Get a 15mm Spacer/adapter and they will fit perfect and they wont be sucked in under the fender anymore and no longer hit the bumpstops.

All I did was take the bump stop and cut a piece of cold rolled the same size as the bumps stops length and width. It was 1/4" material so I had enough meat to tap into. As for the gussets, I used some 16 guage material. To shape the gusset I used some construction paper so I could shape it to fit into the resulting tapered hole from cutting off the tab. Then I just transferred the shape onto the sheet metal and gave it the little bend in a vise and welded it all together.
It was not a must, but with me autocrossing and tracking the car I wanted the bump stop there and extra clearance for the tire to flex and move more than the average car under heavy cornering loads.
I also run V6 bump stops with no WS6 spacer. They are softer and combined with non spacer gets me a little more travel in the suspension.

The clearance problems are when you jack the car up by the body. When the wheel comes down it catches on the side of the bumpstop/body. I just took a grinder and trimmed 1/4" roughly off the side and I have no problems. It doesn't hurt anything structurally alot of racers cut that area out completely.
