Default Cooper Tires??? Opinions Please.....

Good or no?? any comments please!!

I am getting all 4 new tires in a 275/40/17 and the best price i got because I am low on money right now is 650 installed for a Cooper tire...

I went to another place just to price them, and this guy told me $1000 for some other kind and then I told him that I got a better deal on some Coopers and he went on to tell me that they weren't a good quality tire and all that....

i think maybe it might have been so he could get my business...

anyways... please let me know what you think about Cooper Brand... Thanks

Cooper's aren't good quality. I wouldn't recommend them. Have you looked on www.tires.com they are the cheapest I've found and they'll ship to your door for free.

for the 275/40/17 all the way around.... i am getting the for $600 and $50 for road hazard

the tire is Cooper Zeon 2XS... He said I should get about 45,000 miles on them... someone also told me that on any Z-rated tire, that you don't get alot of mileage...

Also if you don't mind would you ask him about the Khumo Xsta Supra Tires... That is what I have right now, and its seems that wore down kinda fast...

I really really really appreciate it!!

As far as traction goes, you're not really gonna get any regular radial tire to hook all that well. That's what drag radials and slicks are for.

When I was looking for new tires, it seemed as though you had a mix of people saying yeah or nay on pretty much every tire. If you got a good deal on the Coopers, I say go for it. I endend up getting the Nitto 555 up front, and the drag radials in the rear, but I don't drive my car every day.

Kuhmo Ecsta Supra 712's are cheap and have good tread wear, plus they're a good quality tire. Yes, they do suck for drag racing on the street , but thats why someone designed drag radials and slicks for.

I have the Cooper Xeons on my car right now thanks to previous owner (245/50/16). When I first got the car they were practically brand new and they hooked really well. In fact unless I did a good clutch dump, they would not spin under hard accelleration, but 20,000 miles later they don't hook worth ****. But they do have good treadwear. Like I said I put 20,000 on them myself, dont know how much previous owner put on them, and I could probably get another 5,000 to 10,000 on them. I still have about 4/32 left of tread, but I'm upgrading to 17's next week, so goodbye to the coopers.

i went ahead and got them today! it was the best deal i could find... and the tread on them was similar to the Khumo Supras that were already on the front...
