Default Widest tire on factory 16x8 lowered

Hey guys. First off let me apologize as I'm sure this topic has been covered several times in the past. However, due to my slow internet connection here in Afghanistan, my search feature does not work.

I have a '99 trans am. I was initially planning on buying a set of c6 z06 replica wheels, but have decided to focus on full suspension first before I spring for a set of wheels. That being said, Im looking at buying a set of nice sticky tires for the rear to go on my factory 16x8 chrome wheels. Planning on running a 255/50r16 Toyo Proxes TQ. Car will be lowered on koni 4/4 sport shocks with strano Springs. Will I have any issues fitting these??

Also, if anybody has any pics of TA's lowered on the factory 16x8's I would really appreciate it.

Thanks in advance!

The 255/50s should fit fine, I wouldn't run anything bigger than that

255/50/16 fit fine on a 16x8, that's what I've had on my truck for quite a while. 265/50/16 would probably fit, but I don't know if anyone makes them and I'm not going to be the first to try. 255's are hard enough to get.

I am not aware of any tires made in 265/50R16 so yeah 255/50R16 which they make the new BFG G Force Comp 2 in this size. Its an excellent performance tire that hooks up well for a street tread.

I have been thinking about going with the toyo 255/50r16. I don't want to go any bigger than that to avoid any bulging.

PM me your email address and I'll send you pics of my car. Lowered on BMR springs (1.25") on stock chrome 5 spokes.
