Default Widest tires on a 19x10.5 rim?

I've got an 01 SS lowered on SLP lowering springs with a set of C6s. 18x8.5 up front and 19x10.5s in the back. I want the meatiest, best performing tires out back. What's the widest I can go?

Thanks

I wouldn't go any wider than a 305 personally. But I'm sure you COULD fit a 315.

if you need tires I have some nice Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tires that I am selling
they are 295 30 ZR19

they are the perfect size and tire for a 10.5 wheel and sit nice and flat, square with the wheel which is what you want.

I also have the same tires in 305's for sale but you will have to roll your fenders and do the BFH mod to get them to fit with out rubbing and what not.

Best tire... Toyo R888 in a 305/30/19, but it costs $361 each. Gotta pay to play.

I wouldn't neccesarily call it a road race tire, as it's not like a Hoosier R6 or Proxes RS1. It is a damn good street tire that hooks well that you can drive on the street and take corners with it.

It's the tire of choice for the TT Gallardo guys if that means anything.

mickey thompson et street radial 2's in 305/19 sound good to me for ultimate traction concerns. I run bridgestone re050a's 295/30's on my 19x10's and they work well at around 500-550whp...much more than that they start to spin pretty easily.

Ya I've heard the same about thin side walls. I'm thinking about running the Butto Invos all the way around (245/40r18s&305/30r19s) and buying a pair of 18X10.5 C6s to match my front and throw some 305/35(30?)18 M/T street ll's just for the weekend and track...

10.5 will fit a 295 or 305 width tire, lean toward the 295 for sidewall stability...

So if I went with the M/T SR2s, would I hook better with a 295 with a taller sidewall than a 305 with a slightly thinner sidewall?

If the same tire compound, the 295 with taller sidewall should allow you to hook better than the 305 with thinner sidewall. really depends tho. A super stiff tall sidewall may not work as good as a very soft short sidewall. There isnt much of a difference in width between a 305 and 295. The tires contact patch greatly improves with height so any chance to fit a taller sidewall taller tire is gonna help traction

+1.....that what I use...awesome tire! 335/30/18 hooks very well for a small sidewall tire.
