Good set of street and strip drag tires.
Looking at picking up a set of tires for my spare rims for the odd street race against my friends and the odd 1.4 mile track night, Mods are in sig and i was looking at nitto 555r's but wondering if there is something stickier around the same pricerange?

That's the problem. They aren't offered in for 16" wheels.
Or these.
Basically you have 2 main choices, the MT ET Street Radials or the 555R's. 555R's will be better in the rain but hook a little less than the MTs. You can look at Toyo Praxius TQ drag radials also, but I haven't seen a whole lot on those

Cape T/A is right, MT's all the way for your case since your only driving a short distance outside of rain. Best traction of any tire for the strip. If you need something more streetable, Nittos would be good but you already know that.

Imo it depends on your power level, i run nitto drs on my prostars and have never had issues without hooking or spinning, if you make big power yeah the mts or hoosiers are the way to go but i plan on buying nittos again, replacing tires every spring got old, 2nd year on the nittos and they might make a third, thats a big factor for me, nittos drop some air, give them a killer burnout and they work just fine for me
