Default Michelin AS+SPT PILOT, BFG kdw2 or Nitto 555's????

hey im in the market for new tires again. im looking for some reccomendations. the tires ive been looking at are Michelin AS+SPT Pilot, BFG kdw2 and Nitto 555's. ive been running 285/40/17 555's on the rear and they seem to do pretty good until they start wearing past half tread then its all downhill fast. im looking for something that will perform good on the street. im not too worried about launching my car, I rarely drag. i do have some fun on winding mountain roads quiet often. Any input is highly appreciated. attached are pictures of the tires i was looking at, but if there are any that you would reccomend please let me know.
thanks guys

I have the kdw's. They have pretty good traction all around. I don't really like them when it is raining good, just don't feel like they aren't hydroplaning. But i think they are definitely a good all around tire.

Friend has the michilen pilot's and he really likes them. I felt more stable in rain with those.

I like my nittos. Never had the other two but I've heard the kdw's have awesome tread life. Plus the tread design looks so badass.

I agree kdw2's are the best looking tire ive seen. In 275-40-17 i can get nitto 555's for $130.64, BFG KDW2's for $185.54 or Michelin AS+SPT pilots for $208.18. I just dont know if those tire will justify spending an extra $55-$80 more on each tire when i can get at least 20k miles out of nittos on the rear.

I would look into the bfg g-force sport comp-2's too. And why are you looking at an all season tire with 2 summer tires?

Ditto? I just bought some nittos from discount tire and they were $151 for 275's and $212 for 315's. And that was the cheapest I could find.

BFG COMP-2 gF SPT $153.45
Ive ran the BFG G-Force they look the same but the BFG's wore within 15k on the rear, how are the comp 2's tho? i have quite a few people wanting them for their 370z's at work but i have never rode on any.

No michelins? I have rode on Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 in 275-35-18 and 335-30-18's and they were awesome but i dont have 18's anymore, however i still have a new set of these tires if anyone is interested. Those are alot different from the A/S SPT's tho

The Michelin PSS is the pretty much the best performance / street tire there is. But they are expensive and don't come in the right sizes for a 4th gen camaro. Don't know anything about the Michelin AS+SPT Pilot

Ya, I would prefer the PSS, which is the next gen of tire technology and better than the PS2. I could justify the price for the best perf /street tire out there, but not the PS2's. I went with NT555's for half the price of PS2's.

I'm currently running the Nitto NT555's (275/40/17) and the wear has been awesome on them. They are coming off here next week being I just bought some 295/35/18 BF KDW 2. Pretty sweet tires. I got a great deal on the two for $249 each. They seem a little more sticky over the Nitto's. Looking forward to trying them out. If your main purpose is to use them for around town driving....I would probably hit up on the Nitto 555's. They have been a overall great tire for me and I'm still sitting on 85-90% tread life after 2 years of spring/summer driving.

Im pretty hard on a set of rear tires. I've had 2 sets of 555's on the back of my car and needs a 3rd but ive yet to change the fronts from the first set i put on there. I thought maybe bad alignment but no i just had it aligned and new control arms put on, and the previous set up was pretty spot on. is 15k-20k miles normal on these tire with running them on the rear?

15-20k on a DR from what I've seen and heard from others, seems fairly common. The tire shop I just bought my KDW's from said I should see anywhere from 20k+ depending on how I drive on them.

thes are just standard 555's not DR's but if DR's are going that far i may pick up a set of those. I can buy those for $161.86

The comp-2's are supposed to be a little better than the kdw-2's if they make them in your size. My dad has them in his ~385rwhp ws6 and I just took it for a ride and it bogged when I launched it then held traction through 1st. They are definitely going to be my next tire.
