Default Lowered car, tire sizes?

After relentless searches I cannot find the answers. Like many, I have lowered my T/A 1.25" and have the OE Wheels C5 DD wheels (17 x 9.5) and (18 x 10.5). They are not mounted yet, cause I cannot find the correct tires. I have a general understanding on tire sizes, but without ever seeing how they fit on the car, I'm stuck. What have you guys been able to fit as far as height of sidewall? The whole reason I lowered car was because of the gap in the fenders. Pictures would be great, I don't see many F-bodies here in Wichita Falls other than stock

Check on OE wheels customer picture website. They have the 285/35 size tires. Also 1.25" drop wont be low enough if you're looking to get rid of that gap. I had a 2.5" on my 01' with the same rear tires and the gap was almost gone.

275/40-17 front and 295/35-18 rear. You'll have an inch difference front to rear, because those are staggered wheels. You could run 295/30-18s in the back or 315/30-18s to have overall similar size and any of those tires will fit.

you're going to want a 25.6" tall tire all around to avoid potential ABS/TCS issues. But many many people have staggered sets like mentioned above and dont have a problem. Generally 275/40/17 is seen on a 17x9.5 tire, and a 285/35/18 or 295/35/18 on a 18x10.5 wheel. The offset of the rim will be a factor if it rubs or not.

18x9.5 front 18x10.5 rear
275/35/18 and 315/30/18

Lowered on BMR springs, Koni lower perch in front and heater hose mod in rear. Best pics I have to show it are from my photoshoot awhile back. I can take new ones if need be.

This one shows the gap pretty well. I have maybe a finger gap in the front (if that) and about a finger and a half in the rear. I need to roll the fenders though because my tires are getting sliced.

StreetLegal, those are great refrence pics for me. I'm sold on the 315/ 30 for the rears. Spacers needed? I suppose if theres too much gap left I can always get some lower springs that what I have now.

I test fitted the wheels today and found them to be extremly close on the inside, by the bumpstop. This was only close whenever I had the axle unsupported (frame on jack). Otherwise the wheels spun freely. The pics are without the 1.25 springs on.

I guess I can race on teh railroad tracks while I wait for Rubber.

Yep. The offset is for a Vette... a bit too high for an F-Body. I believe it's 58mm or so? Ideally, you'd want to be in the 44mm or so range. That would give you another half inch or so inside and push the wheel out to be flush with the fender. A small spacer would give you more room inside and give you a wider track. Or, you can cut the bumpstop and use a BFH to massage the wheel well.

Jake Fusion, you are correct sir. I ended up cutting the bump stop bracket off. Was replacing it anyways with the Jeep style one. Seems to be alright now. It does spin freely without obstruction, but without tires why wouldnt it. I may look into getting some spacers for it and have them on hand for whenever its ready.

Cool glad I could help. I didn't need spacers on the rear, they did rub a tad on the inner fender well but a was able to hammer most of it. I ended up getting a 1/2" spacer and now they sit flush with the fenders. I still need to roll the fenders though like I said. It did hang up on the bumpstops before the spacer when I lifted the car up.

If you are wanting to go lower in the rear you can always do the heater hose mod like I did since it's very easy to do.

Couldn't tell you on the rears, but you should have no problems in front with a 9.5" rim and 275/40/17's. That's what I run on BMR springs, mine are OE Wheels too.
