Which wheels for Y3F Camaro?
I'm looking for some new wheels, but the problem I'm having is finding a set that goes well with a Y3F equipped Camaro. No requirements at this point other than trying to find something that looks decent.
These are some of the wheels I have been looking at so far:
- C6 Z06 deep dish in chrome 18" front and rear
- BS Street light 17" front and rear
- Forgestar F14 deep concave in black 18" front and rear
Here is a picture of the car as it sits right now, so let me know what you guys think would be a good wheel option.

^LOL, agree. what is a Y3F? anyways those are 3 unique wheels. The Corvette wheels are going to be the heaviest but cheapest. The BS are light and 17's open a lot of doors with tire choices however I am not sure how strong the wheel is for DD use, the Forgestars are light and built for road use but are not cheap and take some time to get.
So what do you want out of your wheels? drag race with a little road time, a cheap/heavy street wheel, a not so cheap lightweight street wheel

I went with a staggered size and width for each rim on mine. Had I done it all over, I would have gone 18s on all corners with a staggered width, but even so, I still like my setup now with the 17s up front and 18s in the back.

Forgestars, do you plan on lowering it? IMO its a must, specially with the Y3F kit.
PS. Everybody and their mom are going to tell you to remove the ground effects so it can look like every other Camaro looks like you like it so keep rocking the **** out of it!

It's not as simple as just taking off the kit. Rivets are drilled into the body and would require a body shop weld them and repaint. Pretty expensive to have done from what I've seen many people post on here.
*edit: And the kit has kind of grown on me over the years, so I'd rather leave it on.
Y3F is the GM factory option for the ground effects that are on the car. This is not a strip or track car. It is my daily driver during the summer months, and I put about 10,000 miles per year on it, so I need a wheel that will hold up. It does see rain on occasion, but has never and will never see snow.
I do plan on lowering it, but not this year. It will probably need new shocks next year (2015), so I will lower it at that time. On that note, I would like a tire/wheel combo that will fit without heavy modifications to the wheels wells. I'm thinking an 18x10.5" rear with a 295 tire is probably the largest I can go in the rear then?

That would probably be your best bet without banging the wheel wells too much or at all. Each car is different, some require it and some don't. You might be able to get away with 305's too but I'm almost certain that would require some banging, again it would depend on your car. Also once you lower then you would most likely need a adjustable panhard bar to center your rear again.
Not a drag car. If anything I may run bigger brakes in the future as well, so that small of a wheel would not work.

Good point and I didn't think of that. Being able to keep rotating tires would be nice considering the amount of miles I put on the car per year, but I'd also like a wider footprint in the rear for looks. I guess that's something I will have to toss around too.

if you plan to do a big brake setup then you will want a 17"-18" wheel. I chose 18" Forgestars for my Camaro because they are 22Ibs each compared to my old Corvette Z06 wheels which were 28Ibs each. thats 6Ibs i took off each corner. plus I will have no issues running the CTSV caliper and 5thGen Camaro Rotor on the fronts.

Another vote for Forgestars here, but I am biased. I am running an 18x9 with 40mm offset of the front, and 18x10 with 40mm offset on the rear. The 18x10 with 40mm will require rolling the fenders.
Here is my thread with quite a bit of info in it.

Also, got my c5 zo6 wheels 18x10.5 in the rear and 17x9.5 up front. Love them

Can't go wrong with either forgestar CF5 of F14's in concave or deep concave. With the red I would go gunmetal.
Another one I think would look good is the Centennial Cup ZR1/Z06 wheels that you got with the Z07 package in 2012/13. Havent seen them on a F-car yet. OEM was staggered 19/20, but they are sold as a replica in stock C6 Z06 sizes, 18x9.5(40mm offset) and 19x12 (59mm offset). Maybe they would sell 4 18x9.5s.
