Need answers for new wheel/tire combo
Ok, lets start of by saying that I have been searching for answers for weeks and weeks now and I have heard all sorts of opinions. I understand that wheels and tires are a matter of opinion when it comes to style and/or rim size but what I am looking for is the facts on offsets and tire size (yes I have read the sticky on the offsets).
I have a 1999 Trans Am M6 LS1 vert currently with 19's all the way around, 235/35/19's to be exact (on the car when I bought it). I am wanting to buy staggered 18/19's in the C6 Spyder replicas but I have so many unanswered questions. I didn't think that the questions would be difficult to find answers for but it has proven to be a task. I looked at all the info regarding how offset and backspacing works and I think I have read every post on here pertaining to tire/wheel fitment. I am burnt out on searching for answers so someone please point me in the right direction.
The wheels are front 18 x 9.5 and rear 19 x 10. I came across several people running this size and I understand they will work on the car. The problem is that these wheels only come in a 56mm offset (both front and rear) and I am not sure how they will fit or if I will need adapters/spacers which I am currently running and trying to get away from. How will these wheels fit? I have heard people say stay in the 40mm offset range and I have heard stay in the 50mm range. Can anybody show me a 56mm offset on a T/A.
Now for the tire fitment question. Looking for a good size tire to run on these wheels without having to BFH mod or roll the lip. I have a Eibach Pro Lowering spring kit and I want a tire that is wider that the 235's that I am currently running but I don't want too big to where it will be rubbing.
It's wouldn't be such a big deal if I had different tires and wheels to try on for sizing and learn about how they fit or had a little bit more experience in changing wheels and tires, but I have to order everything and I don't want to have to keep returning things to get it right and loosing money in shipping.
Someone give me a baseline, where to start with tire sizes and maybe some pics of cars with 56mm offsets. I am the type that will research the **** out of something til I change my mind about getting it and I really want these wheels!
Attached are pictures of my current wheel setup. I like how they look as far as placement/depth sitting in the wheel well and would like to keep the same look.

19x10 56mm will fit. It won't be totally flush, but it'll fit.
The 18x9.5 56mm will fit as well. Stock is 17x9 50mm.
You shouldn't need spacers for either.
I have 17x9.5 on mine with 44mm offset in the front and 17x11 rear with a 44mm offset. The closest place to worry about is the spindle in the front, but there is plenty of clearance everywhere else. The rear, with 10" wide should work without any issue. You may have to take a hammer to the inner fender well, but it should be pretty minor. I'm 12mm further out than you in the front... which is about half an inch. But it sits very flush to the fender.

Thank you guys for the reply. I am on the edge of ordering them. Your information is very helpful and I want to try and keep the same wheel positioning/stance that I currently have. I have no idea what the offset is on the current wheels or what width they are. I am looking forward to those Spyder's though!
Anybody have technique on checking the current wheels offset? I know there is a hell of a spacer/adapter in the rear and a decent size one up front.

your current wheels sit flush or slightly outside of the fender. you are most likely using a 35-40mm offset. most people, myself included, like a 40mm offset because it lines up with the fender and not tucked in like a 50mm or greater offset does. 6LE sell the Spyder wheels in a 40mm offset, I would do a 40mm all around or a 40mm up front, and 56mm in the back with a 6mm spacer to bring you to a 50mm offset since the rear is half and inch wider.

I checked out 6LE Designs for the wheels. I want 19's on the rear and they only sell them in a 56mm offset and a 79mm offset in the 19x10's. I am assuming the 56mm would be for C5 vettes and the 79mm would be for C6 vettes. 56mm just happen to work on the F-bodies. Really wish they made the 19's in a 40mm. Probably end up getting the 56mm with a 6mm spacer. Is it a spacer or adapter? I am currently running an adapter to move my wheels out to where they are right now.

Pretty good info here on how to calculate the offset, since you asked.

I buy a lot of old set ups with negative offsets all the time and this is what i use to find the real offset instead of what i am told since most wheels i buy get modify and people think it is still the same.

Lol, well I am interested in getting some wheels from you. Please keep me informed if you can get them. Does "may" have a time frame? I like the "hopeful" part, just not the "may"...
