Default weld fbody specific wheels not fitting

Bought these from a guy that ordered from jegs that are fbody specific. I've tried on two camaros one a 98 and one a 2000. It broke the inner balancing weights off and made a line from the brake caliper on the wheel. Any clue why they aren't fitting? He had them on a trans am and they fit fine.

Sounds like you need to do some grinding on the calipar. All vehicles will have a degee of variance. That should take care of the rubbing.

Might be the wrong pad height? Who knows. In any case, grind the calipers and call it a day. Weight reduction.

Did you do a little grinding last night OP? The Dark Star wheels I have are supposed to fit without any issues too, but I had rubbing of the caliper on the passenger side only. I ground down the area on the caliper that has the fins and that fixed the issue. It was very minor grinding needed and nothing that's going to compromise the integrity of the caliper. Hopefully it's the same case for you.

What year Trans AM?

I have that exact same wheel on my 96 Z28, and fit no problem, but I have heard on 98+ cars (LS1) they take some grinding on the calipers because of the different design.

Even if the car is the exact same make, model, year, trim, etc., there are going to be tiny variances.

It came off of a 2000 trans am i believe. mine is a 98. I haven't gotten around to grinding them yet i know it isnt gonna take much because the wheel will spin on around it.

If you keep driving it like that, you'll wear a groove in the inner part of the wheel, which will in time provide you the clearance you need. I would not recommend doing that though.
