Convo Pro 15x4 With 2 5/16" Backspacing
I'm looking for a set of drag wheels for my 2000 SS & have read all I can find on here about what fits.
Seems like everyone runs the minimal backspacing on just about all of the 15" wheels but I don't want them out that far.
From what I've read on here most guys with Convo Pro went with 1 3/4" back spacing but some did mention the used the 2 5/16" but had to grind some but nobody said how much.
My car had Corvette front brakes & I converted it back to stock F body using all new stuff so it's probably @ the worst for grinding.
I know this is long shot because Convo Pros aren't popular but anyone know how much grinding is required?

I read some older threads with guys saying the 1.75 backspace kind of hung out & wanted the fronts to be about the same as the stock wheels.
I also read the sticky & some old threads on the factory offset & thought some said the factory 9" wide wheels had a 7 1/4" backspace leaving 1 3/4" out but after doing the math a 9" wheel with a 50 mm offset should have a 6.47" backspace leaving 2.53" out.
So I guess a 4" Convo Pro with 1 3/4" backspace would have 2 1/4" out & really shouldn't hang out unless I'm missing something.
IDK but they still look like they're out more than the stock wheels, maybe it's the tires.
Have any pictures?

I'll post some pics tonight. But my fronts are perfect with a 165/15 tire on the front, no sticking out or grinding required. The rears with a 275/60r15 drag radial are about even with the quarter. Here's a vid after I just got it running, kinda gives you an idea how they look towards the end

I've got a set of Convo ETs, I don't remember what backspacing, but they don't stick out at all and didn't require any grinding in the front.
The rears might need grinding, but not much at all, I don't remember if I had to grind for those wheels or a different set I had.
They'll actually be for sale soon.
