Default Good tires for street?

My tires are about half the tread left, and after the SLP Air Lid/Free RamAir Mod/Borla Catback (Dumped before the muffler) I just cannot keep this thing on the ground.

I can be going 40MPH and if I go to WOT the tires just spin loose and the car starts pulling diagonally. Are there good tires that will grab the street for the stock rims, and if I can't be too picky, won't cause my transmission to just grenade?

A4 with about 42,000 miles on it.

Have you looked into drag radials?

I have 315whp, with bfgoodrich g force sport comp 2s on 275/17s. My car is pretty predictable. If you want to get sideways you can but if you slip the clutch hard, you will still have good traction from a dig.

Nitto 555r hook way better than street tires but won't dead hook and hurt parts.

I liked the Continental DW's that were on my CCW's. At 440 rwhp and a 325 size tire on a 20" rear CCW 505a's, the car hooked remarkably well.

My car does pretty well on 285/40r17 Nitto 555 (not the drag radial) when it's warm out. You can spin if you want it to, but it's pretty easy to manage and hold traction.

i 2nd this if your just looking for a good street driving tire that you can drive in the rain. if your looking for drag racing traction NT05 is probably a good choice. i recommend you eventually pick up subframe connectors & LCA's to help plant your car to gain traction. just my one cent. ps i have G-force comp 2's

I got the G Force Comp 2's a year ago for a solid street tire on stock hp. I consider the Conti DW and Nitto 555 to be worthy as well. The BFG rebate(s) made it an easy decision. But, I'd have preferred the Conti's if they weren't $150-$200 more per set after rebates. Nitto's are budget priced yet are good performers.

Continnental Extreme Contact DW's are the way to go IMO. I have 410 whp and they hook great, smooth, quiet ride.
