TA New wheels MRR GT1: pics
Worn stock 245-50 16 left and right is conti extreme UHP DW 275-35 18 way more rubber sticks 95% better!!!!
Well my VMR 710's fell thru for my 02 black TA.
I want to pull the trigger on some new ones. Looking at 18x9.5 ET40 range so I can run 275-295 and have some sidewall with a 35 series profile.
17's in new styles are impossible or not made any more and I don't want a vette replica.
I was leaning towards the VMR 710 style. It is similar to the FM10 so is the M310. I like the hyper silver not black. Has a modern look but still enough retro. BUT it does have more of an OEM look.
Then I saw the RPM 505 and the MRR GT1 looks similar more like the EVO with the bolt heads. These wheels really pop but are they more flash and showy then sporty in person look better on a hi end BMW? Or appear to chrome like on a hood cadillac?
Anyone have thoughts or experience with both wheels?
uodated: GT1
R1 concepts brakes and ceramic pads
Goodridge brake lines

Well I went to my wheel guy and he had the GT1 and some AG (not 310) in stock and side by side the GT1 finish and look was sick. AG are nice but the hyper silver is more OEM. and the VMR even more so.

I have a set of GT-1's in all chrome and like em. I bought the gen 1 cadilllac brembos and want to do the brake upgrade and not sure if they will fit with the GT1. Other than that I have no complaints and they do look sick!!
18 x 8.5 front 245 40
18 X 9.5 rear 295 35
I want to try the 305 in the rear but not sure if they will fit. I did roll my fenders so this summer i think i will give it a shot

I'm looking at these for my WS6, but in 19"....still haven't decided on tires or other specifics yet. These are the closest thing I could find to the HP Evo's which are discontinued.

Looks beautiful. What sizes do you have and what is the lip width on the rear?

Thanks Arsenal....yeah the MRR GT-1 is more than reasonable and looks killer with the correct stance. I bought these wheel about 5 yrs ago so I don't recall exactly what the lip sizes are but I think with the staggered 18" 8.5 front 9.5 rear they only had one option (38 and 50 respectively) I want to say 2' lip on rears? I bought them directly from MRR. Maybe call them and ask...California Co.

Awesome, thanks for the info. I'd like to have a 3" lip on the rear wheels, in that style wheel. My old Jetta had 18x8 up front and 18x9 out back with a 3" lip on the rear, but the company making these wheels went out of business/was sold:
