Default Width and offset

Is there a way to tell the wheel width and offset with the wheels and tires on the car? Or do I have to pull them off and or dismount the tires?
I'm wanting to go with a little wider tires front and rear in something real sticky, car is a Summer sunny day driver only. Has 265/35-18 up front and 285/35-18 rear on Z06 wheels, replicas I think ? Since they are 18".
I'm hoping I can go with 275's in the front and 295's in the back on the wheels I have in the same height if possible. Currently have mismatched front and rear tire brands on the car that came on it when I bought it, looking to have matching tires and a tad wider. I've found both Michelins and Contis in Summer sports tires available in 275/35-18 and 295/35-18 sizes and hope I can fit them on my wheels without issue but not sure what size my wheels are and if that will work on the car even if they fit on the wheels. Not sure how to tell if I can do this.

I'd bet that you have 18x9.5 front and 18x10.5 rear wheels judging by the slight stretch both front and rear with the tire sized you say you have. you should be fine with a 275/35 front and 295/35 rear tire on those wheels.

Thanks, that's what I was thinking too but I'd sure hate to order a set of tires online and then find out there's a problem with fitment.

Thumbs up

So I went out to the garage and laid on the floor with a tape measure to get a rough idea of what I have for wheel width.
Looks like the front are 9.5" given I came up with about 10.5" overall near as I could tell. The back I think are probably at least 10",came up with at least 11" overall and maybe a bit more so maybe 10.5".
Looks like there's plenty of room for wider tires on both ends.
Now I'm thinking maybe a 305 or 315 on the back and maybe a 285 up front. I have no doubt the 295 and 275 will fit in a 35 height.

Looks like 18" sizes are pretty limited, I did find matching 295/35-18 and 275/35-18 in several brands so I guess that's what I'll end up with.
Would like to go 305 or 315 on the back but can't find matching 275 or 285's for the front.

The few 315/35-18's I've found didn't have a matching 275 or 285/35-18 for the front. I don't really want to go 30's all round and lower the car even more.

Shorter than what?
A 315/30/18 is 0.4in shorter than the stock 275/40/17s, and only 0.2in shorter than a 275/35/18.

You can't run a 315/35 and a 275/35, they are different heights, the "35" is the aspect ratio that is the height of the sidewall based off the width of the tire. If you want a 315/35 then you need a 275/40 or 285/40 tire, which will all be overall taller than stock. A 315/30 would be close to equal height as a 275/35 or 285/35.

I guess I need new glasses lol. Looked again and the 315/30 is pretty damn close in height to the 275/35. Looking at the Falkens, had a set on my '93 Z28 and they were sticky as all get out. Will do a lot more research though, new tires are a ways off maybe even next Spring with a brakes upgrade. My budget is already to the breaking point with the current upgrades. I know I'm going to want better brakes and tires to go along with more power and all the suspension upgrades.

Had the same issue, but went with 315/35 Toyo TQs and 275/35 T1 Sports up front. Nothing looks out of place. Selling the tires if you're interested, PM me. Only 800 miles.

Those look great! Wish I had the $800 but I'm tapped out for now. I just dropped $1100 on Strano springs and Koni shocks plus my car goes in the shop for a whole bunch of other stuff 1st of the month so I'll have to pass on them.
