Default Rear Radial Tire Fitment

Hey guys, I have a 2000 Camaro SS looking to put drag radials on the back without having to minitub or chop up the car.

Will a Nitto NT05R Competition Drag Radial 315/35R17 fit the stock tub without having to worry about any rubbing while racing/driving? I am ordering a 17x11 wheel for this. Planning on just swapping the wheel and tire combo for when I race the car at the track.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks

One more thing I should have mentioned. The car is an inch lower than stock. I'm sure it's still ok but just want to verify.

I'm lowered an inch as well. It may have not been necessary but I went ahead and bought an adjustable panhard bar just in case

Did you bolt the radial to the wheel? On previous cars I have done that and am considering doing it to these as well. Just would hate drilling into a new wheel though.

well if this is the case then a 305/35/18 on a 18x10.5 should fit nicely with no issues as well ???

I can't personally speak for that setup, but if it's the same diameter then I would think it should

305/35/18 is a 26.4 in height and 12.4 inches in width and the 315-35-17s are 25.7 in height and 12.6 in width according to specs

I say it will rub the inner wheel well wall.....for sure....when you make just normal cornering turns. I put 315/35/17 on my factory 17 x 9 wheels.....they rubbed the inner wells. Yours on an 11" wide rim will be a tiny bit wider.

Lets see.....
