Why do 275s rub on my 99 TA
I just put a set of C5 wagon wheels on my TA 18 inch rears. Can anyone tell me why the passenger rear tire rubs on accell or cornering? I know the rim is 9.5 inches but its the same size tire width wise as a stock ws6/ss.
I looked at the tire and cannot see any marks where it could be rubbing on sidewall or anything.
Of note I have Koni Str.ts and Strano lowering springs as well as adj panard and rear sway.
The stock 16s with 245s never rubbed after the suspension installation...

Take a broom stick or something then put it at the base of the tire and lean it against qtr panel... Then measure the distance from the tire to stick on each side. Should be the same.
I'm assuming you have tire rub on the inside because the axle isn't centered

Agree with the previous...Center your rear axle. Should be convenient with your adjustable panhard. There are plenty of measuring methods that work fine. With the wheels off, I usually tape a string to the outside of each wheel well. Let the string hang down with a weight like a nut or washer. Measure from string horizontally to the outside or inside of a rotor. It's a bit of extra work, but it helps if you are by yourself and are doing other suspension work as well. It should it will work fine with the wheels on too.

I just did the broomstick measurement
Did the broomstick measurement...wow 3/4 of an inch in difference! Driver side measures at 1 1/4 inch and passenger side (rubbing culprit) measures at 2 inches. So I just need to roll the rear on my ramps and twist the panhard bar to push to the passenger side between 1/4 in and 1/2 in?( Half of 3/4) so it's even?
