Default Nitto DRs questions

When I stall my car here before summer some time, I'm likely going to need to run Nitto DRs to hook up (after I roast off my brand new Fuzion ZRi's! ) . However, the car is my daily driver and I'm hoping to get some decent life out of them. Some people say you can get 20k-25k miles out of them, which would be great for me. Which tires would those be? Other people say hardly 15k.

Also, are they decent in the rain as long as they're not near bald?

The nittos should last your 15K if you dont heat them up a lot. They do tend to get a little shitty in the rain sometime after 10K miles. Depending on how their life has been. Overall they are a great tire.

Who was saying that they can get 20-25k out of them then?

Nittos will last 15K at best and that is if you're easy on them!!

15k is a good number. Your only going to get 20k if you drive like a grandma and that kinda defeats the point of having a drag radial.

Are there any different types of tires that will hook well, but get longer life? Maybe such as the GS-D3s?

i don't see why you couldn't get 20k miles out of them as long as you don't sit there and smoke em...if you don't do big burnouts they should last that long...just drive it like it as street tires...they will still hook a lot better than street tires...

I run 17lbs air pressure in mine on the street and at the track. I have had mine for about two years. They have about 50 or so passes on them and 6k miles. There is still alittle tread left on them.
