Default Biggest size tire?

What is the biggest size tire you can get on a 17 by 9.5 wheels? Which tires do you recommend for better take off and no spinning for the summer??

285/40ZR17 is the largest manufacturer recommend tire size.

there are people but it's not a smart thing to do...you really don't get any benifit...you pay more money for the tire...it wears out quicker because it isn't supposd to be on that small of a rim...and it could possibly cause a wreck because it isn't the right tire for the rim...if you want to risk your life by going with a large tire that is your decision

ive seen 315s on a 9 inch wheel. bad idea. they dont look safe at all. you will get the best performance out of a top quality 285

im sure you could find someone who has done anything you can think of, doesnt mean you should or that it is safe , i wouldnt go any smaller then a 265 or any bigger then a 285.

I wouldn't put a 315 tire on anything less than 10" wheel and that's pushing it.
