Whats gonna be the best tire combo on my Privats in an 18in..
I'd love to go 295/35/18 but I know they wont fit...

Joel I've had four different manufacturers 275 width tires and they all seem to be a little different in widths. I don't think that it will make much difference going to a 285 vs. a 275.

Currently I have 275/30/19s Michellin Pilot Sports and they seem very narrow on my 9.5" wheel. I probably could fit a 295 without any issues, but do you know expensive 19" tires are.... I'm not changing them any time soon.

Best of luck with what ever you decide.

Bri,the rim is 9.5 so a 285 isnt recommended?
I think I shold go with 4 275/35/18's...

I dont wanna take any chances....
U like the black or argent privat on our car?

I'm leaning towards the argent silver...

I'm throwing 295/35/18s on all four of mine. I forgot that you shouldn't go over 285s, after I already bought the 295s, but I have talked to several people who say it shouldn't be an issue. Guess if you stop seeing any posts from me and hear of a tire blowing off of a white SS in Texas and causing a major accident, it probably didn't work out.

It will work, but be bulging a bit. The fronts are pretty much going to rub the fender on full turns, so don't freak out when you hear noises up there

yeah, but they might rub the front fender well on full turns, stick with 275 up front or 275 all around if you are worried about rotating.

tood@prodyno told me i could run 285's up front just fine with those rims. i have 275's now with eibach sportlines and they dont rub a bit, although it is very close. when i get my privats i think i am going to stick with 285's all around so i can finally rotate my tires! but, i think 275's would look fine

I'm going 275 and 285 and silver profiles...
Man I cant wait,I have Hal coil overs so I can experiment with the drop and all I 'll need to do it cut one coil off the back springs.

Then I'll go to the SS4000 verter/Nice quiet exhaust and pol bushed control arms
No more race car for me (well I still have the bar in the car )

Joel, go 285/35/18 for all four corners.... you'll be happier.

You may be ok with 285 all around, no biggie. I really don't like the Nitto 555's in 285 though, my back ones are pushing it as far as too much bulge. Nitto's run wide though, their 285's are a little wider than most brands.

Nittos run bigger? I always thought they were smaller? or was that just the drag radial?

Joel, like I said, it really depends on the tire itself.... If you look at my 275/30/19s they look really narrow at the tread. I could actually get away with a 295 from the same manufacturer.

If I do it again, I'll go Nitto 555s in the 275s since they are a wider tire.

Tire widths are like hp numbers from manufacturers..... GM's 330hp is not the same as Ford's 330hp.
