Default 285/40ZR-17 for my SS?

Can anyone tell me if the 285/40ZR-17 will fit my stock 2000 SS? I believe the tire difference is just that it is 10 millimeters wider. I am concerned about any rubbing issues, especially on the fronts. I wanted to put them all the way around. Thanks in advance for your help.

I had 285/40/17 BFGs on my stock SS wheels. No problems and looked great. Some will say that is too wide for a 9" rim. I disagree.

I have 285's all around and they used to rub a little accelerating hard around turns, but I am pretty low. I would get 'em, shoudn't be a problem at all.

I have the 85s in the rear and 75s up front, no problems and nearly five years with the same setup.

I had 285/40's on 10-spoke SS wheels on my '94 Camaro. Never rubbed, even when I ran Pocono wallowing around on stock 9-year-old suspension.

I have the Kumho Ecsta MXs 285/40/17 all around and they work great on my 2000 SS rims. I'm also lowered 2-2 1/2 inches with the Sportlines and no rubbing issues.
