Default Steering Wheel Shakes

I recently installed new CCW 505as on my 2000 C5 vette. I wheels are 19X10 fronts and 19x11 rears. I have only had a chance to drive it once on the highway, but at speeds of 60 mph plus, the steering wheel slightly shakes/shimmers back and forth. Not a great deal but enough to be irritating. I thought it was an alignment problem at the time, but now I am not so sure. These wheels were ordered direct from CCW. Could the wheels be improperly balanced? Are there any other potential causes? How about a defective tire? I have never had any problem until the wheels were swapped. The car is at stock ride height and has 30000 miles. thanks for your help in advance.

All the causes you stated could be possible. I would probably check the balance first though.

Definately check balancing, as well as possibility of a broken belt in a tire. If those check out , it could be a rim not completely true(round). Hope you find it!!

its probably out of balance, take it to a high quality wheel/tire shop and have them rebalance them

Rotors might have warped, it may just be a coincidence that it happened right after mounting the wheels. Just a guess, thats what happened to me and is pretty common.

sounds like they need to be re-blanced.

I'd say balance, and make sure the pressures are equal on the fronts too....
