will 225/60/16 tires rub b/c they are too tall?
So the price difference between the 225/60/16 winter tires and 225/55/16 tires is quite a bit and the options are different. The tires I want are only in 225/60/16 size, but the person at discount tires.com told me that they will be too tall and rub, but the guys at tirerack.com said that I can run them if I want to, but they recomend the 55/16 size.
Anyone run this size tire?? does anyone know if they will rub, Im not sure if they just told me they will rub so that I buy the more expensive tire from them or not. Any help would be great, because I need to get these tires purchased ASAP... I wanted to go with 215/60/16 but my rims I bought are 8" width rims so that won't work.....errr I HATE WINTER

so they wont rub anywhere in the wheel well, on the frame behind the tire etc.. I got an email from a different guy at tires.com who said I can run them as long as I have a stock ride height still. So I hope he is right, and I trust you are right too. If any one else thinks the same or otherwise please speak up. Thanks!!

I just went out to look to see how much clearance there is on the car, the only thing I can see that could be a problem would be when the wheels are turned to the left or right, their is only about 3/4" between the tire on there now and the inside of the fender. This is such a pain, I just wanna order the tires and be done with it....

the overall diameter of the 215/60/16 is less than a half inch more than stock, but the 225/60/16 is a full inch more than stock, so if I had narrow enough wheels to run the 215/60/16 then I would, but I dont so I need to stick with 225's

I just took a set of 225 60 16 w/ 8in wide off my stock-ride Z28. I didn't notice any touch or rub.
Your actual speed will be 2.5mph higher than your speedo reading at 65mph for 26.6 vs 25.6 inch dia., so be careful at speed.
