285/40/17 pics Anybody got any shots of their rear 285/40/17 tires? Preferably Goodyear F1 GS-D3s? Id like to see just how wide they look to see fi its worth sending wheels out to be widened enough for 315s.

Here are some pics of my car, when i had the GS-D's on there. My wheels are 8.5" and i squeezed a 285 on there...i'll include a few pics to show you the amount of bulge, which was quite a bit!
My recomendation would be, don't squeeze them on...you loose so much traction in the process...i just spun my tires into 4th gear....not worth it in my opinion, don't stretch a tire over a wheel that is not wide enough.

They'd be going on 17x9.5 wheels, so the 285s will fit fine. Thanks for the pics. They do look pretty wide considering they were mounted on skinny wheels.

You can, but I think it would look a little anemic on there. While I think that too much sidewall buldge looks funny, I feel that too little bulge looks equally odd.

pics It's a crappy pic but I have Nitto 285/40 R17's on my car on a 11" rim. I don't believe Nitto makes 285's anymore but they look pretty meaty....
Here's how they look on the rim, may be a touch on the small side, but they look good. I'd like to go with 315's but I don't think I can get them to work because I'm lowered.

I HAD 285-40-17 ON MY OLD z28 WITH 17-9.5 ZRI'S THEY ARE ONLY A HAIR WIDER THAN THE 275-40-17
