Default decided on wheels, now tires

I am going to go with the C6 machined black ones.
18x9.5 up front and 18x10.5 in back
From what i searches a 275/35/18 tire would do well on the front, but for the back, I am still ifffy on what will fit. I was looking at a 305/35/18 for the rear 18x10.5 wheels. Will these fit without modification to a stock height 98 WS6? If not whats a good size (maybe 295/35/18)?

Also, what does everyone use for rubber? Any suggestions?
thanks in advance!

-Steph

Yes the 305's will fit. I'm running GS D3's for rubber. They make a 275/35. But do not make a 305/35. 295/35 is the best fit for the rim width but if you want alittle more rubber 305 will work. I think your going to find once you install these wheels you are going to want to lower your car. I didn't want to lower mine when I bought my wheels. But once I put them on. I changed my mind. It was lowered within 2 wks. The look will be worse with the 10.5's in the rear. Just thought I would throw that in there to. Now if you lower your car with 305's depending on the offset of the wheel your probably going to have to do the BFH mod.

wouldn't 315's work with 18x10.5s? or would you need an 11 for that?

If your going Kumho's make sure you get MX's

Also 315's will fit on a 10.5 inch rim. But it would take some work to get it to fit. 315/30/18 would be the tire.

Kumho's are good tires, I used those on my '94 track car. They had great traction and they wore slowly, too. Any other good tire in a 295 like PS2 and G-Force T/A KD will be much more expensive. BTW G-Force T/A drag radials in a 315/30 are cheap (I'm assuming by your sig that you drag race. ) 315/30 will also fit on a 10.5" wheel (rim range is 10.5"-11.5") and it leaves more space between the tire and wheelwell than an 11" wheel would. The rear quarters on the T/A flare out a little more that Camaros too, so you have more room there. More meat, more traction.

The 18"x10.5" C6 repro will have a 58 mm offset. They fit with no mods, front or rear. The 9.5's have a 56 mm offset. My car isn't lowered and I have plenty of clearance with 10.5's on all four corners. My friend's '98 WS6 is lowered with sportlines with 295/35 on 10.5's all around and has no clearance problems either. Now all I need is a cam to keep up with him.

Sweet car. It looks badass, especially with those rims.

One snag you might hit with 315's is if the rear axle housing isn't centered in the car, so you may or may not need an adjustable panhard bar. They're really cheap, though.
