I have the KD's and love them. great traction.
Has anyone thats had a set of KD's found another street tire that performs better on the dry road? I have not tried the d3's but I cant imagine them out performing the KD's on a dry road.

Comparing apples and oranges I see....the GS-D3 was developed in Europe and was intended for WET and dry traction....The KD's are a dry traction tire.....You COULD compare the two, but it wouldnt be a fair comparison.
I havent had the KD's so I can help you there, but....
Ive had the KDW's and the GS-D3's...The D3's are better than the KDW's in a straight line, but then again they are physically wider. The sidewalls on the KDW's are stiffer and stand up better in the turn (less sidewall roll) because (from one side to the other side) they are made from one piece...That paired with the fact that they have less surface area touching the ground than the D3's makes them roll less than the D3's.
*disclamer* with all the b.s. in other threads lately, this is not a personal attack....it is mearly and observation.

I love the D3's although they are completely worthless in the snow. I've used these after using the Fuzion's and Yokohama A520's (discontinued) and the Goodyears are superior in rain and on dry roads.

I run the Sumitomo HRTZII that came with my TT2s about 2 and a half years ago. They still ride good and dont' slide or anything when I'm hitting corners hard. They are okay at the track. I'd buy them agian but I'd like to try out a different tire, because this is all I'm used too.

Fuzion's are a GREAT choice and should be considered the "value" Potenza. I think Bridgestone makes excellent tires, but they are usually too pricey for my tastes. Fuzions fill this void very nicely.
I have no doubt that there are better tires out there, but given the price I think they are very tough to beat. They hook VERY well, have a nice, fat rim guard, are quiet, very progressive, and good enough in the rain.
The only downside I can think of is that they aren't very popular, so people assume they are kind of a knock off asian brand. I'd bet they are a little heavy to with the beefy rim guard.
If you drive a lot of miles, I'd push hard for them.
But if you only drive your car as a weekender or summer, then splurging for pricey goodyears or whatever may make more sense.

I like Kumhos for the money. I had a set on my '95 TA and they were great tires. I had the Ecsta Supra 712's and they performed well in dry and wet conditions. Got them shipped to my door for under $500. I had about 25K miles on them when I sold my car and they looked almost brand new, they wore excellent.

How do you like the Avons? Specifically, do they stick in the cold (<30 degrees F) dry weather (not snow). Most summer, non all season tires turn to blocks of ice at this temp and wheel hop/become useless. I have dedicated snows all around for the late winter.

My favorite is Pirelli P-Zeros, the directional style. Factory equipment on many supercars. Only bad thing was they have a supercar pricetag, and they dont last. They were the only tire I've had so far that hooked out of the hole on my car, well sometimes!!

Kumho Ecsta 711, at 57 bucks a tire they are great. I bought mine from a friend for 50 for the pair. I was gonna use them just for the track, well they stood up to the beating. Endless burnouts and about 5k miles from me and whatever he had put on them and they are still good as new. He said he used to launch at 3k rpm at the track with them and they held pretty well. They are good traction in wet or dry weather, great all around tire.

$ for $ you cant beat the Kumho 712's they perform good for what you pay.
My personal fav is the BFG KD's wet traction is not a concern of mine I want the best for them nice sunny days of rippin up the back roads.
I have run the Goodyear GSC and F1 and they were good but for that much money BFG all the way.

Currently running the Fuzion ZR1's. Love them! Switching however to the Avon Tech M550's for the snow traction capabilities.
I ran the Potenza RE950's on my GTP and they were awesome! The snow traction was incredible. Didn't know they made the stock size for the F-body though. Would definately buy them if they carry 275 40 R17.
