Default How often do you polish your bare aluminum rims?

Thinking about putting a set of these on my daily driver.

I don't want to have a weekly polishing ritual for these things to look perfect though.

I polish every time I wash, so depending on the weather it can be weekly for me.

I polished about once a month. Every now and then I would do it every week but once a month was enough since I kept the wheels clean

If you want those to look perfect, don't put them on your daily driver. You will be out there every week polishing them, and they still might get nasty on you. Been down that road...the wheels in my sig are no longer my daily driver rims...I use my chrome ZR1s instead while these sit until my car is no longer a daily driver.

I rarely polished my bare aluminum rims. Maybe once or twice a year. I keep them washed and use Eagle One A to Z wheel cleaner and they're fine. They're not gonna stay mirror polished like the day you got them on a daily driver. I didn't even try to get that picky with them. I just wash them up and dry them off and roll with them. Best tip is if they get dirty, don't let the sun bake on the grime or you'll wind up with stains that are a bitch to get off.

I polish mine about once a week...and they still look great...I also wash the car at least twice a week, so they are always kept pretty clean. You could go about 2 weeks before they are noticeably duller...unless you drive in rain etc...

The thing about these Boyd Coddington Wheels is that they are very high quality. Do you think they would hold their shine better than the $499 special at Pep Boys?

Polished aluminum is all the same. It's gonna lose it's shine whether it's a cheapo or a high quality one. The inital level of polish is the big difference. It'll take the same amount of work to keep them clean and shiny.

That's some dedication...and a lot of time. Good stuff

I'm curious as well

I'm looking to put some Centerline polished wheels on my daily driver. Would this be a bad idea? Would chrome or painted be a better option as far as maintenance is concerned?

I live in SoCal btw
