Well personaly I think all the C5, C6, Z06, ZR1 and yada yada have been overrated for the longest time. But everyone likes rims for whatever reason, whether its overrated, underrated, and creative in design. As long as you think it looks good, then thats all that matters.

Man ZR1's are like so 4 years ago!!! j/k. I have them still on my car. It doesn't matter if a wheels is overused or what-ever, that doesn't stop them from looking good.

I like them. Everybody will have C6 wheels before long anyway, so I'm not even considering them just because that's what tons of people will have. It's a personal choice as to what you like, and if you like to be a little different or go with the crowd.

People go with these overused rims because they see them all of the time on here. So they are constantly reassured that they look good and know that they are LS1tech socially acceptable.

Personally, I see rims as a great chance to make your car unique and will try to go a road less travelled.

I agree 100% with the guys saying that all that matters is if YOU like them. Hell, plenty of people probably think Camaros and Firebirds are outdated....are we all going to ditch them now to get something 'newer'? Not me. I happen to love my discontinued platform, cable operated throttle, pushrod V8 car.

I've never been one to follow a trend just because it was "in" or "out". I like what I like; old, new, outdated, or popular.....doesn't matter to me.

Definately. As mentioned before, partly because you see so many of them isn't because they're overused or being beat to death, its because they DO look good, and why go different just to go against the trend?

the fact that 97 SS camaros came with 16' ZR1 style, and then 98-99 SS Camaros came with 17' ZR1 style rims mean that ZR1s just go with the car. the fact that you can get an 11 inch wide version of the wheel just makes them just that much more attractive

That is incorrect. The 96-97 SS coupes had 17x9's and the verts had 16x8's
It was 98 when the 17x9 was first offered on the verts.

It also depends on where you live, around me I haven't seen a 4th gen on anything but stock wheels, so around here, the ZR1 isn't played out at all

IMHO, any factory wheel is played-out (including the C6's)

I'm not saying they all look bad, they just don't fit my taste.

I have ZR1's only because I liked them 2 years ago when I got them. I just have yet to change them.
