Default eBay wheels: sweet deal or too-good-to-be-true?

It's time for new wheels and tires and after a long research, eBay seems to have the excellent deals.

My question is: has anyone had any good luck with eBay powersellers or stores? particularly O E Wheels and AFS wheels.

Please leave some feedback on how well things worked out for you if you've dealt with this type of thing before. Before I fork out a couple bills I want to make sure I'm gonna get exactly what I pay for.

Thanks a bunch!

bought my rims from rim-zonewheelsales on eBay. I was very happy with them. Good communication and Customer Service. Rims came wrapped in foam in individual boxes and came with a plastic lip/circle on top of the foam which held the foam to the rim and also helped the tire guy mount the tires without damaging them. I got 17x8.5 and 18x9.5. c6's were brand new, so I paid roughly 900ish shipped. It was several hundred less than what some other places wanted at the time. eBay typically has better deals, but do your research first before you put money down.

I got my wheels 17x9.5 Gransport wheels from AFS. I actually lived in California and went to pick them up as to save myself the shipping cost. They are nice folks over there and good to do business with. I have not had one problem with my wheels and the tires I got with them are nothing spectacular, but hey theygot like 8k miles on them and are still fine and dandy. I having nothing but positive things to say about AFS!

I bought my rims from AFS also. Chrome ZR1s 17x9.5in with 275s. They were in perfect condition when I bought them. Had them on the car about 2 years now and the chrome is not pitting or peeling.

Bought mine that way too with good results. Just stick with the larger places with lots of positive feedback and you should do fine.

I know you've all heard it before, but how do the +56mm and +58mm offset on 18x9.5's fit? And what size tire would be good?

I have purchased my last two sets of wheels from Tom Z wheels, and the prices have been the lowest I have seen, the service was awesome, and the shipping was fast. What else could you ask for? I highly recommend them.

Look at the picture of my car. the rear wheels are 18x9.5 +58mm. They fit fine but are very close to the bumpstop.

Well here are their feedback scores:

AFS Wheels

O E Wheels <-----

Tom Z Wheels

I see OE Wheels dropped their shipping to 89, it used to be 135 or something close to that. Tom Z is a sponsor so thats where I would go but all they have is chrome.....
Also why are almost all the Z06's for sale CHROME??!!!

I just bought a set of ZR1's off Ebay from AFS. I was goona buy from TomZ, but the OE wheels weigh around 26.5 and the AFS wheels weigh in at 22. Thats a huge difference. I paid $695 plus shipping for these. BEST PRICE AROUND. Buy from AFS. Wait and they will list your wheels. It took me 3 weeks to find the exact auction I needed. GL, Bear
